PARO, PAROT, PARROT (PERREAULT, PERROTTE) FAMILY

There are two unrelated sets of families of the name Paro,

Parot, Parrot living in Grand Isle Co., Vt. One is

descended from a Perreault family. The other is descended

from a soldier of the Seven Years War who remained in

Quebec Province, and is properly Perrot or Perrotte.

Alber Perrot, a French soldier, married 7 January 1761 at

the Parish of St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Marie-Louise

Letourneau, daughter of Jacques Letourneau and Marie-

Angelique Denoyelle.

Jacques Perrault/Perot (son of Albert Perrotte and Louise

Caille had lived together out of wedlock from 1816-27 and

had during this period of time three children who were

baptized as illegitimate and then legitimated by the

There is no evidence that Jacques Perrotte ever lived in

Grand Isle Co., Vt., but by 1850 he was residing in Clinton

Co., N.Y. with a son of his second marriage, Theophile.
