Marie Drizi Despati (adopted daughter of Michel Despatis and Louise Mailloux)

The marginal index for the above marriage reads: Charles Dubuc and Marie Dirizi Depati. The body says: 10 July 1815 by us after the publication of three banns of marriage made at the parochial masses for three consecutive Sundays between Charles Dubuc, major son of the late Joseph Dubuc and of Marie Quintal, his father and mother, the said mother consenting to the said marriage and living like her said son in the parish of Chambly, of the one part, and Marie Dirizi, minor adoptive daughter of Michel Depati, laborer, and of Louise Mailloux, her father and mother, consenting to the said marriage, residing at Lacadie...

Baptismal records of their children also refer to her as Marie Prudent and Marie Drisi. There was a family in the area named Drisy dit Normandin. It is probable that she was born as an illegitimate child.
