John & Polly (HYDE) LESSLIE came to Plymouth in 1835 from Cornish, New Hampshire, having moved around Vermont & living several years in Bennington County. I believe that John was the son of James & Hannah (Blaisdell) LESSLIE of Washington, New Hampshire, but I have no proof of this yet. Their children: Walker married Caroline Wheeler and settled in Wheelock, Caledonia, Vermont. Harriet married Emerson Farnsworth, moved to Wisconsin, but died in Plymouth while visiting her parents. Cyrus married Elvira Smith; the LESLIEs who were still in Plymouth in the 20th century were their descendants. Horace (my gg-grandfather) married Elizabeth, daughter of Cotton and Phebe (Russell) STRONG, who had come to Plymouth from Boston in 1818. Cotton was the son of Gelston & Deborah (Rowe) Strong of Granby, Hartford, Connecticut. Phebe was the daughter of John & Elizabeth (Perkins) Russell of Newburyport, Essex, Massachusetts - I do not know much of anything about them yet. Emily Betsey married Asa H. Hosley; most of their family died of typhoid in 1866 and the surviving children left Plymouth; I don't know where they went. Contact Nancy Wygant |

Erik S. Hinckley is interested in the Webster line, specifically Levi Webster (1782-aft 1870) and Rebecca (Rist) Webster (1784-aft 1870), who came from Chester, VT to Plymouth in 1840. The Whitney family, Daniel Whitney (1777-1863) and Content (Stiles) Whitney (1777-1863). Lastly the Coolidge line of Josiah Coolidge (1773-1848) and Lucy (Temple) Coolidge (1776-1858). Any information or direction on any of these families would be greatly appreciated. |
