both of Prince George County recorded in Surry Deed Book 8 (1826-1830) pp.700-701 transcribed by Dennis Hudgins This Indenture made the fifteenth day of January in the year of Christ eighteen hundred and twenty two, between David Emmery of the one part and Dudley Maynard of the other part, both of the County of Prince George. Witnesseth that the said David Emmery for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five dollars current mony of this Commonwealth to him in hand paid by the said Dudley Maynard at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said Dudley Maynard his heirs and assigns, one certain tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred and sixty acres being the south east quarter of Section four, of Township fourteen north in range four east in the tract appropriated for military bounties in the Territory of Illinois, together with all and singular the appurtenances, issues and profits thereof & every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said one hundred and sixty acres of Land with the tenements, hereditaments and all and singular the premises herein before mentioned unto the said Dudley Maynard his heirs and assigns forever. And the said David Emmery for himself and his heirs the said One hundred and sixty acres of Land, with all and singular the premises & appurtenances before mentioned unto the said Dudley Maynard, free from the claim or claims of him the said David Emmery, and all & every other person or persons claiming either through or by him. In Witness whereof the said Davied Emmery have hereunto set his and and affixed his seal the day & year first above written.
