Dickerson, 61, peacefully went to be with the Lord from her home surrounded
by her loving family after fighting a peaceful battle with cancer on
Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert
and Lois Spicer; sister, Mary Devota Spicer; son,
Michael John Dickerson;and father-in-law, Dexter
Dickerson. Eunice taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade for 22 years with Floyd
County Public Schools and was known as Mrs. D to her students. She was a
member and contributed a lot of work to the Retired Teachers Association and
the Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed working with 4-H and the FCHS band. She was
a member of the Riner Grace Brethren Church. Eunice embraced everyone she met
and never knew a stranger. She loved spending time with family and friends. |

GEORGE FILMORE DICKERSON Bluefield Daily Telegraph - September 27, 1966 George Filmore Dickerson, 73, of Pisgah Road, Princeton, died Monday
at 8:55 p.m. in a Princeton hospital. He was a native of Floyd County, VA., and was a member of Pisgah
Methodist Church. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amy Kirby Dickerson; four daughters,
Mrs. C.C. Moore of Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. H.R. Baker of Fort Pierce, Fla.,
Mrs. Ted Farley of Crab Orchard and Mrs. Betty Peltier of Dearborn, Mich.;
four sons, Jason Dickerson of Milan, Mich., and Paul, Carl and George
Dickerson Jr. of Princeton; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren;
one sister, Mrs. Lillion Lope of Portsmouth, Ohio. The body was taken to Memorial Funeral Directory of Princeton.

Princeton, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Directory

Rev. Fred Cook will officiate with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Friends
may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. A native of Floyd County, VA., he died Monday night in a Princeton hospital.
He was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church and was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amy Kirby Dickerson of the home; four

Roanoke Times DOYLE, Sharon Janney, 42, of Roanoke, went to be
with the Lord Saturday, April 12, 2003. She was a contract driver for 23
years for the U. S. Postal Service. Survivors include three loving sons, Jonathan Doyle,
Daniel Weeks and Preston Weeks, all of Roanoke; her father, Okie Janney of
Roanoke; her mother, Shirley Janney of Goodview; five brothers, Michael
Janney, Howard Janney, Richard Janney, Homer Janney and Kevin Janney, all of
Roanoke; two sisters, Diane Martin and Geneva Janney, both of Roanoke; special
friends, Barbara and Leon Lionberry, Dot and Woody Allen; her special
companions, Tippy and Jackie; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday,
April 16, 2003 at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. James Moran officiating.
Interment will follow at Duncan's Chapel Cemetery in Alum Ridge, Va. The
family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the
funeral home. Oakey's South Chapel is in charge of arrangements. |

Duncan of Willis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services

He was retired from NRI Industries after 31 years of service. He served as
Governor of Montgomery County Moose Lodge from 1983-84, and was a life member
of the Floyd County Rescue Squad and a member of the Indian Creek Primitive
Baptist Church. Survivors include
his wife, Barbara Bishop Duncan; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ann and
William Hairston, Floyd; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Eldon and Amanda
Duncan, Willis; brothers and sister-in-law, Rev. Ralph and Shirley Duncan,

will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2001, at the Indian Creek Primitive

1963 graduate of Floyd County High School. He was a professional truck
driver, and he had a passion for beef cattle farming. He was preceded in
death by his first wife, Linda Inez Rampey Duncan;
his parents, James Everett "Ebb" Duncan and Annie Lera Underwood
Duncan; his grandson, James Matthew McPeak; his brother, Wesley Everett
Duncan; and his sisters, Martha Ellen Radford and Evelyn Vera Saul. |

Duncan, age 41, died Sunday, July 28, 1991, in a local hospital. He was a
member of the Presbyterian Church of Radford. He had served his country in
the Army National Guard and was a basketball official in the Virginia High
School League. He is survived by his wife, Diana Lynn Duncan,
Radford; one daughter, Stephanie Michelle Duncan, Christiansburg; one sister,
Hilda Burnette, Floyd; a special sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Simpkins, Radford.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at
the Indian Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. George Ducker and
the Rev. Gene Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The
body will be taken to the church Tuesday evening where the family will
receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00. Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, is in charge
of arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of
flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House,
Roanoke, Va. |
