MA Standard Times, 26 Mar 1998] Fall River -- Helen E. (Hopkins) Nabb, 83, of South Main Street, Fall River, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at the Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home. She was the widow of Harold S.
Nabb. She was a lifelong resident of Fall River, daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth E. (Sullivan) Hopkins. She was a 1932 graduate of Durfee High School. She was an accountant in the millinery department of McWhirr Department Store until its closing. She later worked at Cherry & Webb before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Assumption Circle, St. Patrick's Women's Guild and the Borden West Tenants Association. She attended St. Mary Cathedral and was a communicant of St. Patrick Church for 78 years. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 1993. Survivors include a brother, Edward J. Hopkins of Somerset; several nieces and nephews; and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary D. Buckley and James Hopkins. The funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Cathedral. Arrangements are by the Jeffrey E. Sullivan Funeral Home, 550 Locust St.

Nagle, 79, of Balch Street, a retired laboratory colorist, died Monday at the
Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. He was the husband of Juliette M. (Vaughn)
Nagle; they had been married for 58 years. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late
John and Mary (Devlin) Nagle, he was a lifelong city resident. Mr. Nagle had
been a lab colorist for Apex Inc. for 40 years before retiring in 1986. He was a
Navy Veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Stephen Nagle
of Coventry; three daughters, Judy Nagle Kearney of Milford, Mass., Trish Nagle
of Hopkinton and Kathryn Whittaker of Pawtucket; 16 grandchildren; and 6
great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late James and David Nagle, and
the brother of the late John and William "Frank" Nagle and Mary Smith.
The funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the Cheetham Mortuary, 1012
Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Teresa Church,
Newport Avenue. Burial, with military honors, will be in Mount St. Mary
Cemetery.
NAGLE [Newport RI Daily
News, On-line obituaries, Nov 2005] Newport - Dennis Francis Nagle, 79,
died Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Newport Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in
Newport, RI, on September 18, 1926. He was a son of the late Francis J. and Sarah E. (Stanton)
Nagle. Dennis joined the Army near the end of WWII, serving in the China-Burma-India Theatre.
After discharge he re-enlisted and joined the 82nd Airborne Edition. Upon further training he
became a member of the Army Rangers. Dennis was selected to be in the Honor Guard to welcome
home General Eisenhower in New York City. He later served in the Korean War and was severely
wounded in North Korea on October 19, 1952. He received the Purple Heart Medal among other
military awards. Dennis was a member of the War Rangers Inc. Dennis was long time parishioner of
St. Mary's Church. He is survived by his sister Rosalene O'Sullivan of North Plainfield, NJ, and
brothers Joseph Nagle of Rochester, NH, Patrick Nagle of Cohassett, MA, and Francis Nagle of
Newport. He was the brother of the late Austin Nagle of New York City and Sister John of Jesus
Crucified of the Sisters of the St. Joseph of Cluny of Newport. A Mass of Christian burial will
be held Friday, November 4, 2005, in St. Mary's Church, Spring Street, Newport, at 9 a.m. Burial
with military honors in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Visitation in the O'Neill-Hayes

News, On-Line Obituaries, April 2008] Newport - William D. Nagle, 76, of Eastnor Road died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Newport Hospital after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was the husband of A. Geraldine “Babe” Barry Nagle. Born in Newport on December 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Philip C. Nagle and Mary McKenna Nagle. Mr. Nagle worked for 29 years as a teacher in the Middletown School Department. He was the head of the Business Department at the Middletown High School for about 25 years. He was also self-employed, as a Licensed Public Accountant. A 1949 graduate of DeLaSalle Academy, Mr. Nagle served four years in the US Air Force including 15 months in Korea during the war. Upon returning to Newport after his service time, he enrolled in Bryant College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Secondary Education. He graduated in 1958. Mr. Nagle earned a Masters in Education from Providence College in 1971. He was a member of the Newport Irish Heritage Association, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Dennis E. Collins Division, Newport Yacht Club and National Society of Public Accountants. Mr. Nagle was a former Newport City Councilman for the fourth-ward serving six years from 1984 to 1990. During the 1970's and 80's he was an active member of the Newport Historic District Commission and the Waterfront Commission, serving for a time as chairman on both commissions. He was a communicant of St. Augustin Church. Besides his wife of nearly 50 years, he leaves a son Patrick B. Nagle of Marietta, GA; a daughter Maureen A. Davin, her husband Michael J. Davin, and two granddaughters Megan and Beth Davin all of Franklin, TN. He was the brother of Mary Sheekey of Newport, Elizabeth Bullock of Virginia and the late Kathleen Purdy of Groton, CT. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 10 a.m., at St. Augustin's Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport. yesterday at home. She was the wife of Kenneth F. Nally Sr. They had been
married for 36 years. Born in Cambridge, Mass., a daughter of the late Henery D.
and Marguerite T. (Calnan) Mullen, she had been a North Attleboro resident since
1957. Mrs. Nally had been a service representative at several convenience stores
for 20 years, retiring in 1999. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Mrs.
Nally enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, knitting, and stamp collecting.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Beverly Higgins in South
Carolina, Kathi Constanzo of Attleboro and Nancy J. Korsland in New Jersey; six
sons, Arthur C. Kistner Jr. in Alaska, Clifford Kistner and Kenneth F. Nally
Jr., both of North Attleboro, Kenneth Kistner in Iowa, John Nally of Attleboro
and Jeffery Nally of South Boston; a sister, Hazel Patterson in Connecticut;
three brothers, Fred, Glenn and John Thackeray, all in California; and 17
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held

News, On-line Obituaries, Feb 2006] Galway, Ireland - Sara M. "Sadie" Nally, of Galway, Ireland, formerly of Newport, died on January 1, 2006 in Ireland at the age of 82. She was the wife of Dr. John "Sean" Nally. Sadie spent over half of her life on Aquidneck Island. Born in County Wicklow, Ireland, she studied at the National University of Ireland and graduated as a Radiographer. While working in Jersey in the Channel Islands she met Sean Nally, whom she married in 1949. After a few years in Australia and in England, Sadie and Sean arrived in Newport, which was to become their home for over forty years. Sadie gave up her radiography career to run Sean's practice when he commenced as a family physician at 409 Broadway. Sadie managed the practice with a combination of efficiency and kindness. A great cook, she was also a wonderful hostess and loved to entertain. Since 1993 Sadie and Sean lived between Galway in Ireland and Newport until 2002 when Sadie suffered a stroke and they were no longer able to make the twice-yearly journeys to their beloved Newport. Sadie has spent the last two years in the Coral Haven Nursing Home in Galway where Sean continues to live. She always talked about going home to Newport. Those who knew Sadie will remember her for many reasons but perhaps most of all for her great sense of humor. May she rest in peace. There will be a memorial service for the late Sadie Nally on Saturday, February 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Portsmouth Abbey.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Harriett (Allen) McCarthy. Serena was born in Portland, Maine on Jan. 4, 1935. She was a native of Raymond, N.H., and a graduate of Raymond High School, class of 1952. She was also a former resident of Sharon for many years. Serena married her husband Guy Nardone on July 19, 1952 in Raymond, N.H. Serena was a real estate broker and owner and operator for many years for Nardone Realty of Sharon. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends on holidays and family events at her Mansfield home. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed needlework. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Massachusetts Board of Realtors and the Order of Eastern Star of Canton. She was the beloved wife of Guy Joseph Nardone; the loving mother of Elizabeth Nardone Carroll and her husband Jonathan, Rosamond Anne Nardone, Margaret Nordon-Tutt, Laurie Grace Nardone and Joanne Hartnett, all of Mansfield; the devoted grandmother of Jonathan M. and his wife Jackie, Christopher M. and Jessica R. 2006] Neary, Steven P., 15, of Oakdale Avenue, died Sunday unexpectedly from injuries due to a motor vehicle accident. Born in Providence, he was the devoted
son of Francis Neary of Cranston and Karen (Jamieson) Neary of Pawtucket. Steven was a sophomore enrolled in the electrical program at Davies Vocational School of Lincoln where he was an honor student. He was the youngest recipient of the RI Skills USA-Residential Wiring Competition. He volunteered for numerous organizations including, Meals on Wheels, Christmas in April of Providence, NALC Postal Food Drive, Hoops for Hearts and supported the DARE and SADD Programs. He also played CYO Basketball for St. Leo's of Pawtucket and played in the Cranston Youth Soccer League. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Matthew Neary of Pawtucket, his step-mother, Brenda Neary of Cranston, his maternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth (Gammons) Jamieson, his paternal grandmother, Dorothy (Viara) Neary, several aunts, uncles and cousins. 2006] Neary, Doris M., 83, formerly of Warwick Avenue, Warwick, died on Monday, July 24, 2006 at South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in South
Kingstown. She was the wife of John Headley. Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Eugene A. and Mary E. (Smith) Neary, she lived in Wilmington, DE before returning to Warwick in 1983. She moved to South Kingstown 2 years ago. She was employed as a secretary for 32 years with the U.S. government. She began her career with the U.S. Civil Service Commission at Quonset Naval Air Station and Davisville Seabee Center. She worked with the Department of Defense, 12th Air Force in Ramstein, Germany, and at Air Force headquarters at the Pentagon for the Asst. Chief of Staff for Intelligence. Ms. Neary was also a Licensed Practical Nurse in Rhode Island and Virginia. In later years, she taught oil painting to seniors at the Pilgrim Senior Center in Warwick for five years. She was a member of the Gaspee Seniors and was a founding member of St. Peter Church in Warwick. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mildred R. Miller of Wilmington, DE; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eugene J. Neary. Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 28, at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. late Eleanor F. (Perry) Neary. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late William J. Neary, Sr. and the late Margaret (Kisbert) Neary, he was a lifelong resident of the city, a 1938 graduate of New Bedford High School and communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, New Bedford. Mr. Neary was a WWII veteran of the Navy. He later was the Parts Manager at Ashley Ford and retired from Allied Brake and Muffler in 1985. Mr. Neary loved sports and was an avid New York Yankee fan. He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Thompson and her husband John of Fairhaven; two grandchildren, Katherine Thompson of Fitchburg and Tyler Thompson of Crested Butte, CO; a brother, William J. Neary, Jr. of New Bedford; two sisters, Ursula O' Neill of Long Island, NY and Bertille Neary of Portsmouth, RI; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Neary was the father of the late Kevin W. Neary. New Bedford -- Catherine H. (Hayes) Neenan, 78, of New Bedford, formerly of
Dartmouth, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long
illness. She was the wife of the late John R. Neenan. Born in New Bedford,
daughter of the late Hugh and Julia (Harrington) Carney, she lived in New
Bedford and Dartmouth for most of her life. Mrs. Neenan was formerly employed as
a registered nurse in the maternity ward at St. Luke's Hospital and as a public
health nurse for the City of New Bedford Health Department and the New Bedford
Redevelopment Authority. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and St.
Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in
South Dartmouth. She was a member of the Catholic Nurse's Guild. Survivors
include two daughters, Julia M. Neenan of New Bedford and Margaret M. Steiblin
and her husband, Vincent, of Rochester; two sons, John R. Neenan and his wife,
Marguerite, of Demarest, N.J., and Hugh J. Neenan and his wife, Ann-Margaret, of
Dartmouth; seven grandchildren, Tricia Steiblin, John Steiblin, Sean Neenan,
Emily Neenan, Sarah Neenan, Erika Neenan and Patrick Neenan; and three
great-grandchildren, Tyler Fairclough, Christopher Fairclough and Devin Steiblin.
She was the sister of the late John Hayes and James Hayes. Her funeral Mass will

the beloved husband of Constance V. (Guertin) Neilan. They had been married for sixteen years. Born in Providence, a son of the late James J. Neilan, Sr. and Mary T. (Lenihan) Neilan, he had lived in Providence for many years before moving to Melbourne, Florida two years ago. Mr. Neilan was a Certified Financial Planner for twenty years, retiring in 2002. He had also worked as a senior buyer for the former W.T. Grant Co., in the New York City Headquarters, for many years. He served his country as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a 1953 graduate of Providence College. Besides his wife Constance, he leaves three sons; Michael D. Neilan, of Beaufort, SC, David B. Neilan of Barrington, Kevin P. Neilan of Huntington Beach, CA, a daughter; Kathleen A. White of Keller, TX, a sister, Mary Frances Kelleher of Barrington, and seven grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Ann M. Hackett. Alexander B. Neill SR., 76, of Lake Avenue, Matunuck, a career Navy man and a
Stanley-Bostitch retiree, died Saturday at the Rhode Island Veterans Home,
Bristol. He was the husband of Alice "Jean" (Hopper) Neill; they had
been married for 55 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John B.
and Thelma (Mann) Neill. A Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the
Vietnam War, Mr. Neill retired from the Navy in 1973, with the rank of chief
petty officer. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 39, and the Fleet
Reserve Association. He was a 1976 graduate of Johnson & Wales University.
Mr. Neill had worked at Stanley Bostich, in East Greenwich, before retiring in
1989. A founding member of the Matunuck Fire Station, where he was a life member
and had twice served as captain, he also was a past deputy of the Union Fire
District; a member of the South Kingstown Fire Department's dive team; and a
member of the South Kingstown Fire Fighting Training Committee. Mr. Neill was a
past member of the Clare MacNeil, a Scottish heritage association. Besides his
wife, he leaves four sons, Alexander B. Neill Jr. and Rory M. James A. and
Andrew S. Neill, all of Wakefield; two daughters, Cynthia J. Benson of West
Kingston and Claudia J. May of West Warwick; two sisters, Dorothy Reilly and Fay
Jette, both of Cumberland; two brothers, Robert K. Neill of Pawtucket and Donald
B. Neill of Johnston; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was a
brother of the late John B. Neill Jr. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 11

host of friends throughout the community. For many years, Mrs. Nester was a

years a widely known and popular conductor on local car lines and later on the
D. & W. road between this city and New Bedford, died at his home, 156
Stafford Rd, at about 11 last night. He had been in poor health for some time.
Until his final illness, he had been employed at the Lincoln Mills as a night
watchman. A widow, Catherine, nee Morey; two daughters, Mary K. and Anne E., and
two sons, James H. and George F. survive him. The funeral will take place
Tuesday morning. Mr. Nestor was at one time prominent in Hibernian circles and
also was greatly interested in the material welfare of St. William's parish.
News of his death will cause many expressions of regret and of sympathy for his

She was born June 9, 1916 in Providence, RI to Emma (Doherty) and Bernard Hand and married to the late Edmund F. Neves MD. Raised in Providence, she was the last of 10 children. She is survived by 6 children Carol, Anthony, Edmund, Jr., Michael, Bernard and Timothy and 5 grandchildren Allisa, Zoe, Kirsten, Eva and Emma Rose and 1 great granddaughter Julia. She graduated from Brown Univ. class of 1938 and after raising 6 children, she taught LPN nursing at the Bristol-Plymouth Technical School in Taunton, MA for 10 years before retiring to Largo, FL in 1980. She played a ferocious game of golf and tennis competing in the US Olympic 'Over 80' in Las Vegas. She worked for the Hospice Ivory Team and attended Arona United Methodist Church in Largo. late Dorothea Conant (Hurst) Neville. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the
late Hugh Neville Sr. and Alice (Dormer) Neville. He was a longtime resident of
Tiverton and had lived in North Dartmouth and Lanark Village, Fla. He was a
graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River, Class of 1930, Brown
University, Class of 1934, and the Babson Graduate School of Business, Class of
1935. Mr. Neville was the co-founder of Acme Neville Co. in Fall River and the
founder and president of the former Anawan Plastics and Machine Corp., before
retiring in 1977. He was a member of King Phillip Lodge AF & AM, Scottish
Rite Bodies of Southeastern Massachusetts, New England and Azab Grotto MOVPER.

Tiverton Yacht Club and past monarch of Azab Grotto MOVPER. He was also a former

91, of Dartmouth, died Tuesday at Southpointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care
Center in Fall River. He was the husband of the late Dorothea Conant (Hurst)
Neville. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Hugh Neville Sr. and the late
Alice (Dormer) Neville, he was a longtime resident of Tiverton and had lived at
Lanark Village, Florida, and Dartmouth since 1977. He was a graduate of B.M.C.
Durfee High School, Fall River, class of 1930, Brown University, class of 1934,
and the Babson Graduate School of Business Administration, class of 1935. Mr.
Neville was the co-founder of Acme Neville Co., Fall River, and the founder of
the former Anawan Plastics and Machine Corp., retiring in 1977. He was a member
of King Phillip Lodge Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies
of Southeastern Massachusetts, New England, and Azab Grotto Mystic Order of
Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm. He was the past president of the Fall
River Kiwanis Club, past commodore of the Tiverton Yacht Club, past monarch of
Azab Grotto MOVPER, a former member of the National Association of Plastic
Engineers, the Southern New England Textile Association, the Fall River Country
Club, the Lanark Village Golf Club, the Lanark Village Boat Club and the
Pocasset Hilaman Golf Club. He is survived by two sons, Hugh C. Neville of
Barrington, R.I., and Dana A. Neville of Dartmouth; a daughter, Sandra Neville
Carpentier of South Hamilton; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

was the wife of the late Arthur Raymond 'Ray' Newman. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Catherine (Naughton) Mulhern, she lived
in Providence until moving to Warwick in 1971. Mrs. Newman was a claims examiner for the RI Department of Employment
Security for 20 years before retiring in 1977. She enjoyed square dancing,
bowling and bingo for many years. She was the mother of Raymond E. Newman of
Nashua, NH, Robert J. Newman of Cranston, Mary Lee Newman of Warwick and the
late William F. Newman; the sister of Edward J. Mulhern of Seattle, WA, Marion
E. McGuire of Wappingers Falls, NY, Dorothy M. Burrows of Kingston, Theresa
Feehan of Sanford, ME and the late James F. Mulhern and Rita C. Allen. She is
also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her funeral

Journal, Sunday 24 July 2005] Noel, Anna (Lamb), an eighty year
resident of West Warwick, RI, died peacefully after a long debilitating illness
on Wednesday, July 20th in Portland, 
Oregon.
She had been living in the Pacific Northwest for the past five years with
Mt.
Hood
on the horizon and just a few blocks from her niece. One of three children born
to James Henry Lamb and Mary Agnes Lamb of West Warwick, Anna married George
Noel in 1960 and together they enjoyed life to the fullest, having a great deal
of fun together well into their retirement years. Anna was the Office Manager
for Suburban Propane in
Coventry
for 42 years while George worked for Sears, and Anna still found time to help
raise her stepchildren, nieces and nephews and also raise some cain with The
Friendly Sons of St. Patrick along the way! Anna retired in 1985. She so enjoyed
her family and many friends; days at the beach, summers on the Cape, picnics,
backyard barbecues, clam bakes, trips to Florida, San Francisco, Hawaii, and
many other points west, and caring for her mom later in life. She will be
achingly missed and fondly remembered for her loving, kind, generous and
beautiful spirit. Her beauty inside and out shone through with that warm,
welcoming smile. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, George; her brother,
James Edward Lamb and her stepdaughter, Judy Collins. She is survived by her
brother, Jack Lamb; stepchildren, George Noel, Jr., William Noel, Caril Newell,
Nancy Stanlewicz, and daughter-in-law, Diane Noel; nieces and nephews, Greg
Lamb, Karen Lamb Barton, Claudia Lamb, Brian Lamb, Tim Lamb, Frank Lamb, John

Globe, Wed. 12 May 1909] Peter Nolan, a lifelong resident of the city, died this morning at his home, 248 Rodman street. He had been confined to the house for some time, and his death was not, therefore, unexpected. It comes, nevertheless, as a particularly sad to the family, since his widow, Mrs. Nolan, is very ill. Deceased of late years, has been a tea dealer and through the business he enriched his circle of acquaintances and loyal friends, all of whom will tender their heartfelt sympathy to the family in this bereavement. Besides the widow, a son Francis, and two daughters are left to mourn his loss. One daughter, Mrs. Agnes Eaton of Newburyport and the other Sister Fidelis of Bay View Seminary, East Providence.

Thursday 17 April 2003] Barrington - Virgil A. "Van" Nolan Jr.,
77, of Wampanoag Trail, a retired chief financial officer, died yesterday at
Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Patricia J.
(Young) Nolan. They had been married for 53 years. Born in Rome, Ga., a son of
the late Virgil A. Nolan Sr. and Mary V. (Sanders) Nolan, he had lived in
Barrington for 30 years. Mr. Nolan had been the chief financial officer for the
Rhode Island Port Authority for 15 years before retiring in 1991. Before that he
had been the director of finance for Ferland Corp. He was a Navy veteran of
World War II and a member of Barrington American Legion Post 8 and the Disabled
American Veterans, where he served as both chaplain and vice commander of
Barrington Post 8. He served as a SCORE counselor, and a volunteer with the East
Providence Chamber of Commerce and the Museum of Yachting, Newport. He was a
member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and a former member of the
Barrington Yacht Club. He was a 1949 graduate of Duke University. He was a
communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church, Barrington, where he was a member of
its evangelism committee, and a former member of the vestry. Besides his wife,
he leaves two daughters, Jane Nolan-Morris of Louisville, Ky., and Marie
Nolan-Marino of Cranston; a sister, Virginia N. Burkhalter of Orlando, Fla.; a
brother, Clyde D. Nolan of Comer, Ga.; and nine grandchildren. A memorial

James P. Nolan, 63, of Marion died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at Tobey Hospital. He
was the widower of Noreen E. (Johnson) Nolan. Born in 
Wareham,
he graduated from Wareham High School and received his master's degree in law
enforcement from Northeastern University. Mr. Nolan served as a police officer
for the town of Marion for 34 years, retiring as a sergeant in 2001. He served
several terms as president of the Marion Social Club and also was active in the
Marion Police Brotherhood. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and enjoyed
golf. Survivors include two sons, Shawn J. Nolan of Marion and Shamus P. Nolan
of Fairhaven; two brothers, John H. Nolan Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., and Terrence E.
Nolan and his wife, Rosemary, of Stoughton; a grandson, Cody J. Nolan of
Fairhaven; and nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at
St. Rita Church, Marion. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements
are by the Stott, Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry
Highway.
NOLAN

Nolan, 93, of Magnolia Lane, a retired mechanical engineer and
engineering-drawing instructor, died Monday at Milford Regional Hospital,
Milford, Mass. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Edward J. and Mabel (Chaine)
Nolan, he had lived in Barrington for 86 years. He was a 1931 graduate of Rhode
Island School of Design. Mr. Nolan had been a licensed professional mechanical
engineer at the Naval Underwater Systems Center, in Newport, for more than 35
years before retiring in 1974. He had received several awards, including two
Navy awards for meritorious service. He also had taught engineering drawing at
the college level for 33 years. Mr. Nolan was a member of the National and Rhode
Island Societies of Professional Engineers, the Providence Engineering Society,
the Society of American Value Engineers, the National Association of Retired
Federal Employees, and the Rhode Island and East Bay Retired Teachers
Associations. He had been a member of the Barrington Volunteer Fire Department
for 30 years. Mr. Nolan was a communicant of St. Luke Church, and a member of
its Young at Heart Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop
Hickey Council, in East Providence. He was a member of the Silver Spring Golf
Club, the Barrington Senior Center Activities Club, the Barrington YMCA, and the
West Barrington Men's Club. He leaves a daughter, Lucille A. Cassidy of
Marlboro, Mass.; a brother, Donald M. Nolan of Mansfield, Conn.; two
grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Arvilla E.
Nolan and Dorothy Stoner. The funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from
the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., East Providence, with a
Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
NOLAN

Alexis Nolan, RSM, 85, of Sumner Brown Road, a Sister of Mercy for 67 years and
a retired educator, died Monday at Mount St. Rita Health Centre. Born Evelyn
Nolan in Harrisville, a daughter of the late John and Bridgit (Lynsky) Nolan,
she entered the Sisters of Mercy on Sept. 8, 1936, and professed her vows on
March 12, 1939. Sister Alexis had been a teacher at St. Charles School,
Woonsocket, St. Michael School and Tyler School in Providence, and St. Mary
School, Pawtucket. She was the principal of St. Teresa School in Pawtucket and
St. Peter School in Greenville. She was assigned to Our Lady of Mercy Parish as
a teacher in the Religious Education program and then transferred to Holy Ghost
Parish in Tiverton, where she became the Director of Religious Education for a
number of years. During this time she received an award from S.P.R.E.D. Office
of the Diocese of Providence for her ministry with the special needs students of
Holy Ghost Parish. After retiring from teaching, she became the director of
volunteers at Mount St. Rita Health Centre and became a resident there in 1999.
Sister Alexis leaves a brother, Lawrence Nolan in Arizona, and several nieces
and nephews. She was a sister of the late John and Raymond Nolan and Genevieve
Peckingham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in
the Mount St. Rita Chapel, 15 Sumner Brown Road. Burial will be in Resurrection
Cemetery.

Eugene Nolan, 83, of Roosevelt Avenue, formerly of Carter Avenue, a retired
jewelry worker, died July 3, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center of Home and
Hospice Care of Rhode Island, Providence. He was the husband of the late Ruth M.
(Fisher) Nolan. Born in Attleboro on May 5, 1921, a son of the late Charles E.
and Eva M. (Fisher) Nolan, he had lived in Pawtucket for many years. Mr. Nolan
had worked in the jewelry industry for 18 years before retiring. He was an Army
veteran of World War II. He leaves no immediate survivors. The funeral will be
private.

Christopher J. Nolan, 29, of 190 North Rd., Pascoag, died Saturday in
Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, Milford, Mass., from injuries he
suffered in a motorcycle accident. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was a son of
James and Barbara (Putnam) Nolan, with whom he lived. Mr. Noland was a draftsmen
for Crossmen Engineering, Warwick. He was a graduate of Burrillville High
School, and attended the University of Rhode Island and the Community College of
Rhode Island, where he received his associate's degree. Besides his parents, he
leaves a sister, Jennifer L. Sallee of Santa Marie, Calif.; and his maternal
grandparents, Kenneth and Thelma Putnam, both of Pascoag. The funeral will be
held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag,
with a service at 10 in Community Baptist Church, Church Street, Pascoag. Burial
will be in Pascoag Cemetery, Pascoag.

L. "Ozzie" Nolan, 80, of 61 Islington Ave., a retired communications
executive, died Sunday at the Heatherwood Nursing & Subaccute Center. He was
the husband of Doris (McAlinden) Nolan; they had been married for 54 years. Born
on June 6, 1924, in Bell, Calif., a son of the late Herbert and Anna (Collins)
Nolan, he had lived in Newport before moving to Portsmouth. He was a graduate of
St. Augustin Grammar School, a 1942 graduate of the former De La Salle Academy,
and a graduate of Hunter College, in New York City. Mr. Nolan had worked for
AT&T for several years before retiring as a communications executive. A Navy
veteran of World War II, he served as a submarine serviceman. Mr. Nolan was a
well-known artist. He had been a co-chair for several years of Art on the Lawn,
and was a member of the Spring Bull Gallery. Besides his wife, he leaves three
daughters, Virginia Schurman of Portsmouth, Patricia Rinsky of East Brunswick,
N.J., and Janet Santos of East Hampton, Conn.; two sons, Michael Nolan of
Spring, Texas, and Robert Nolan of Portsmouth; two sisters, Marie Underwood of
Newport and Evelyn Craft of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Nolan of
Atlanta, Ga., and James Nolan of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and a
great-granddaughter. He was the father of the late John G. Nolan, and a brother
of the late John and Herbert Nolan. A memorial service to celebrate his life
will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring
St., Newport.

Michael Dominic Nolan, 64, of Elizabeth Street, Attleboro, a machinist, died
Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the
beloved husband of 38 years of Barbara A. (McClellan) Nolan. Born in Providence
on Feb. 27, 1941, Mr. Nolan was a son of the late Michael D. and Mildred V. (Nihan)
Nolan Sr. Mr. Nolan was raised in North Attleboro and was a graduate of Coyle
High School, class of 1958. He later earned an associate's degree in business
administration from Bristol Community College in Fall River. Mr. Nolan was
employed as a machinist at Fortifiber Corporation in Attleboro for 40, retiring
in 1999. He was a member of the Attleboro Traffic Study Commission for the City
of Attleboro and was a volunteer at the Department of Social Services in
Attleboro. A resident of Attleboro the past 38 years, Mr. Nolan enjoyed reading,
playing cards, sports and especially enjoyed summering for years in Dennisport.
In addition to his beloved wife, Barbara, Mr. Nolan is survived by three
daughters, Erin Nolan of Attleboro, Lisa M. and her husband, Paul Sigman, and
Amy E. Nolan, all of Taunton; five sisters, Mary Murphy and Mildred Caputo, both
of Lowell, Mass., Kathleen Pratt and Eileen Nolan, both of North Attleboro, and
Shelia Ficco of Rochester, N.H.; a brother, Dennis Nolan of Cumberland, R.I.;
two grandsons, William and Michael; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral
will be conducted on Monday, May 16, 2005, at 8 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule
Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in

Sun Chronicle, Saturday 24 Dec 2005] North Attleboro -- Walter Stephen “Pat” Nolan, 83, of South Washington Street, North Attleboro, formerly of Whiting Street, North Attleboro, died on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rita M. (Paquin) Nolan, to whom he was married on Oct. 30, 1943. Born at the family home in North Attleboro on Dec. 26, 1921, he remained a lifelong resident of North Attleboro. As a young child, he attended St. Mary's School in North Attleboro and later attended trade school. Mr. Nolan was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, having served during the World War II era. In 1955, Mr. Nolan and his business partner, Norman Brissette, founded Cappodanno's Inc. in North Attleboro and ran the business together until 1968, when Mr. Nolan became the sole proprietor. From 1968 until his retirement in 1997, he was the owner and operator of the North Washington Street business. Previously, he had been employed as a Class A tool and die maker for the former White's Tool & Die Co. in North Attleboro, where he worked from 1943 to 1955. Mr. Nolan was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro. He was a member of the North Attleboro Lodge of Elks No. 1011 and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 330 in North Attleboro. A longtime golf enthusiast and player, Mr. Nolan was a longtime member of the North End Golf League. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and working around his home. However, his most treasured times were those spent in the company of his beloved family. In addition to his wife of 62 years, he leaves two daughters, Patricia Ann Rapczak of North Attleboro and Sister Pamela Jean Nolan, C.S.C., of Riverview, Fla.; two sons, Stephen W. Nolan of Tampa, Fla. and Pastoral Coordinator Edward J. Nolan of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Edward “Snap” Nolan of North Attleboro; three grandchildren, Katherine Nolan-Denham of Sanford, Maine, Sandra J. Hobart of Gorham, Maine and Kerry L. injuries he sustained after being struck on foot by a passing motorist. Born in Providence, RI, the son of Gina M. (Minincleri) Nolan of Mattapoisett and Donald O. Nolan, and his wife Hildy, of Fairhaven, he lived in Mattapoisett and Fairhaven all of his life. He was a student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and was to graduate in May 2007 with a degree in marketing. Ryan was a very friendly, loving person who touched many lives, both young and old. An avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, he also loved the beach and riding his waverunner. Survivors include his parents; his sister, Marissa Nolan of Assonet, to whom he was a devoted, loving brother; his step-sister, Keri King of Providence; his grandparents, George and Rita Nolan of Cape Canaveral, FL; several cousins, aunts and uncles. George had been employed as an X-Ray Technician at the Brockton VA Medcial Center for thirty-five years before his retirement in 2005. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the father of Karen M. Nolin, 81, of Great Road, a retired operating-room supervisor, died yesterday at
home. Born in the Saylesville section of Lincoln, a daughter of the late Charles
and Mary (McGuinness) Nolin, she was a lifelong resident of Lincoln. Miss Nolin
had been an operating-room supervisor at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island,
Pawtucket, and the Department of Veterans Administration Medical Center,
Providence, before retiring. She was a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of
Nursing and Boston College. She was a communicant of St. Jude Church. She leaves
two brothers, Norman Nolin of Pawtucket and Robert Nolin of Warwick, N.Y.; two
sisters, Marion and Mary Nolin, both of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Charles Nolin, Louise Smith and Nancy Jacques.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501

Street, Attleboro, a model train manufacturer, died unexpectedly on Thursday,
Aug. 19 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of thirty-five
years of Frances S. (Recko) Nolin. Born in Attleboro on March 8, 1944, Mr. Nolin
was a son of the late Alfred Joseph and Ellen Agnes (Wall) Nolin. Mr. Nolin was
raised in Attleboro and graduated from Attleboro High School, class of 1962. He
received a bachelor of arts in English from Roger Williams University in
Bristol, R.I., in 1973. Years ago, Mr. Nolin was an English instructor at
Johnson & Wales University in Providence. For more than 25 years Mr. Nolin
was the owner and president the former Hudson Products Corp. in Seekonk, a
manufacturer of high end model trains. Mr. Nolin was a communicant of St. John
the Evangelist Church in Attleboro, an avid hunter and fisherman and a lifelong
resident of Attleboro. Mr. Nolin also enjoyed writing, music, photography, sculp
ture, model making, outdoor sports and spending time with his family. In
addition to his wife, Mr. Nolin is survived by two daughters, Catherine Heather
and her husband, Daniel Cor reira, of Seekonk and Ellen Ann and her husband,
David Howard, of Attleboro; two brothers, Alfred E. Nolin and Richard J. Nolin,
both of Attleboro; a grandson, Jesse Nolin Correira of Seekonk; nieces, nephews

MA Daily Globe, Monday, January 18, 1909] Mrs. Bridget Noonan, wife of William Noonan, died Saturday afternoon at her home No. 305 Columbia Street after an illness of two weeks. The deceased lived in this city and in St. Mary's parish for a great number of years and had a very large number of friends who will regret to learn of her death. She was the sister of the late Lawrence Phelan, at one time sexton of St. Mary's Cathedral. Besides a husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mary F. and Catherine G. Noonan and one son, Lawrence Noonan. The funeral will occur tomorrow morning followed by a requiem high mass for the repose of her soul at St. Mary's Cathedral at 9 o'clock.

Francis Noonan, 88, of Carnation Drive, formerly of Harold Street, Providence, a
retired foreman, died Monday at Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. He was
the husband of Louise R. (Burrill) Noonan. They had been married for 39 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Edward P. and Jane (Daly) Noonan, he had
lived in Warwick for 32 years. Mr. Noonan had been a foreman in materials
handling for the former Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co., Providence, for 42 years
before retiring in 1979. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of
the Seabee Veterans of America. He had been a member of SS. Rose and Clement
Parish for 38 years. Besides his wife, he leaves two nephews, Charles Burrill of
Bangor, Maine, and Richard Burrill of East Providence; three nieces, Janice
Brillon of Johnson City, Tenn., Erin Darden of Boston and Ruth Schultz of Mt.
Claire, N.J. He was the uncle of the late Patricia Darden and brother of the
late Alice Noonan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10
a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long St. Burial, with military honors, will be
in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

New Bedford -- Miriam V. "Bunny" (Kelley) Noonan, 85, of
North Dartmouth, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, in St. Luke's Hospital following a long
illness. She was the widow of Gerald Noonan. Born in Charlestown, Mass., she was the daughter of the late James Kelley Sr. and Catherine (O'Hara)
Kelley. She was a resident of Dartmouth for the past 42 years. Mrs. Noonan was a graduate of
Charlestown High School and a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church. She was an assembler for US
Ring Binder in New Bedford for several years until she retired. Mrs. Noonan enjoyed embroidering clothing
for dolls. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Noonan, Richard Noonan and Paul
Noonan, all of North Dartmouth; two sisters, Margaret Kelley and Dorothy
Gasbarro, both of Woburn; and several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of
the late James Kelley Jr. Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Waring-Sullivan
Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church,

Miss Noonan was a Secretary for the former New England Electric Supply, a Division of New England Machine & Electric Co for many years before retiring. She was a past Recording Secretary of the Professional Secretary's Association and was named Secretary of the Year in 1979. She was a former Secretary of the Doyle Manor Residence Association and a communicant of St. Leo The Great Church, Pawtucket. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy F. Denelle of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews including M. Dorothy Grady of Warwick, her caregiver. She was a sister of the late Joseph, Patrick, John, William and Clarence Noonan, Sr. M. Hilary RSM and Anna Bannon. 2007] Noonan, Daryl Martin 59 of Cranston, passed away on Saturday June 30, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Carol Noonan. Daryl was born in Providence, and he was the son of the late Martin Joseph Noonan Jr. and the late Lilyan I. Morse. He was raised by his mother and his beloved step-father, the late Arthur Morse, a former West Warwick Councilman. Daryl was a graduate of West Warwick High School Class of 1965, as well as a graduate of Arthur Angelo School of Hair Design. Daryl was best known for his involvement with Artistic Dog and Cat Grooming as the owner/operator since 1974. But his love for animals went well beyond the grooming salon. He was also involved with the AKC breeding, showing, and sometimes judging of Afghan Hounds, Poodles, and Boxer dogs. At different times, he was the owner/operator of Scalair Aquarium in Warwick and Cranston Aquarium. Whatever Daryl did, he embraced wholeheartedly. In addition to his involvement with animals, he enjoyed a variety of activities. He was a Pati Certified Dive Instructor. He was an NRA Instructor, a member of the Providence Revolver Club, the Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club, and Cranston Fish and Game. He was a reserve Sheriff with the Worcester County Deputy Sheriff Association and was a member of the Cranston A.C. Golf Club, as well as the RI B.A.G.S. Golf Club. Daryl will be forever loved and missed by those he left behind; his wife Carol; his children Daryl M. Noonan, Jr. and his wife Chris; his daughter Kimberly Lawrence and her husband Christopher, and his six grandchildren Daryl, III, Nicholas, Carissa, Steven, LaurenAnne, and Benjamin. x-ray technologist at the former state Medical Center, now Eleanor Slater

and Schaefer Stadium in Foxboro, and then went on to work at Serenity Hill
Nursing Home in Wrentham, retiring in 2000. In between, she also worked as a
substitute nurse for the Foxboro and Mansfield public schools. A member of St.
Mary's Catholic Women's Club in

, and the club's bowling league, she was an avid crafter and enjoyed knitting,
gardening, reading, and her Monday night poker group. She was also a participant
in the Harvard Nurses Healthcare Study. Wife of 48 years to William A. Nordberg,
she is also survived by her children, Karen E. Tolbert of Attleboro, Linda J.
Ruff of Springfield, Va., William A. Nordberg Jr., and John D. Nordberg, both of
Mansfield, Kevin A. Nordberg of Alexandria, Va., and James G. Nordberg of

in Fall River, a son of the late William B. and Madeline (Walsh) Norton, he was
a 1958 graduate of BMC Durfee High School. He studied for the priesthood at St.
John's Seminary, in the Brighton section of Boston, and was ordained in Fall
River on May 20, 1967, in St. Mary's Cathedral. Father Norton had served at
several parishes in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fall River before he was
appointed the pastor of St. Patrick's Church in July 1985. In 1990, he was named
the pastor of St. Joseph's Church, in Woods Hole, Mass., where he ministered
until retiring in June 1997. He leaves two sisters, Marilyn A. Abraham of
Tiverton and Gail M. Norton of Newport; and a brother, Barry J. Norton of New
Bedford, Mass. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday

years before moving to Narragansett 4 years ago. Mrs. Norton had been a school
teacher for many years, working in the Providence School Department and the
Warwick School Department before retiring from the Cranston School Department in
1986. She graduated from Classical High School, Providence, and graduated from
the former Pembroke College, now Brown University, in 1948. Mrs. Norton was a
member of the Pembroke Club, in Providence and Kent County. She was a
communicant of St. Francis Church, Narragansett, and a former communicant of St.
William Church, Warwick. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Thomas M.
Norton of Newport and John R. Norton of Southbury, Conn.; five daughters, Mary

Norton, 83, of Aaron Avenue, a former president of Hart Engineering, died
yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late
Lucille H. (Richardson) Norton. Born in Providence, a son of late James L. and
Helen (McDermott) Norton, he was a stepson of the late Helen (Dooley) Norton. He
had lived in Bristol for 27 years, and previously had lived in the Riverside
section of East Providence. Mr. Norton had worked at Hart Engineering, in East
Providence, for 36 years, until retiring as the company's president in 1982. He
was a former chairman of the joint apprenticeship committee of the pipefitters
union, Local 476. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Norton
was a communicant of St. Mary-of-the-Bay Church. and a former member of its
board of governors. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Metacomet Country
Club, and a former member of its board of governors. He leaves a son, Dr. J.
Lawrence Norton of Seekonk; two daughters, Nancy N. Greene of Bristol and
Patricia A. Orcutt of Fredericksburg, Va.; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Avon,
Mass.; and five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was the brother of

Mr. Norton was the stationary engineer at the Providence Civic Center for 21 years until he retired in 1994. Previously he had been the stationary engineer at Union Paper Co., a patent maker at the former Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co., and a meat cutter at the former Elgin Market. He was a member of the Laborers Union of North America, Local 1033. He had been a Navy Veteran of WWII, and was assigned to the Seabees in the construction of Subic Bay in The Philippines. NORTON [Providence RI
Journal, Sunday 18 June 2006] Norton, William H., Sr. 87, of Douglas Ave., died Friday at Berkshire Place. He was the husband of the late Catherine R. (Crowley) Norton. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William H. and Margaret (McCullough) Norton. Mr. Norton had worked as an assistant building superintendent for the former Industrial National Bank in Providence for 13 years, retiring in 1980. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the Roger Williams American Legion Post #35. He is survived by his 6 children, Joyce F. Mazzatto, William H. Norton, Jr., and his wife Joann, George R. Norton, Judith A. Graziano, Joseph R. Norton and Robert J. Norton, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Brother of the late Daniel Norton. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday 5-8pm in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Burial will be private in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860, in his memory would be appreciated.

Nottage, Mildred E. (Gillan), 98, of Cherry Hill Road, a retired jewelry worker,
died Saturday in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, 
Providence.
She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Nottage. Born in Providence, a daughter
of the late William E. Gillan and Fannie (Medbury) Doyle, she had lived in
Providence for most of her life. Mrs. Nottage had been employed with Economical
Card Company. She is survived by three sons, Edmund J. Nottage of West Warwick,
Robert F. Nottage of Conley Springs, N.C. and John J. Nottage of Virginia Beach,
VA. She was the sister of the late William Gillan, Mabel Higham, and Hazel
Sturtevant. Her funeral will held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from The Urquhart-Murphy
Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Rt. 5, Greenwood, Warwick with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson
Blvd., Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and
friends are invited and may call Wednesday 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in

NOWICKI

Swansea - Rosanna C. (McCrohan) Nowicki, 78, of Allen Boulevard, formerly of
Louis Street, a demonstrator for Stanley Home Products, died yesterday in
Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Stanley J.
"Bob" Nowicki. Born in Assonet, Mass., a daughter of the late John T.
and Viola (Bradbury) McCrohan, she had lived in Swansea for 47 years. Mrs.
Nowicki had showed Stanley Home Products for several years, and had worked for
Friendly Home Parties for 20 years. She also worked for Way to Fashion, and the
Avon Co. In her youth, she worked for the former Firestone Tire and Rubber Co.,
and Sova Outer Wear Co., Fall River. She attended Dighton High School. Mrs.
Nowicki was a former member of the Swansea Senior Citizens. She enjoyed doing
crossword puzzles. She leaves three daughters, Catherine Silva and Viola M. Rego,
both of Swansea, and Joanne T. Saber of Fall River; a brother, Raymond McCrohan
of Lakeville, Mass.; a sister, Charlotte Couto of Swansea; and nine
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late
Robert L. Nowicki, and sister of the late John T., James, Edward and Vincent
McCrohan, and Viola Cotter. The funeral will be private.

NUTE (DOONAN)
[Providence RI Journal, Monday 2 Jan 2006] Nute, Barbara Mary (Doonan), 83, of Cherry Hill Manor, previously residing on Golden View Drive, Johnston for 50 years passed away on December 31,
2005. She was the wife of the late Howard G. Nute, Jr. Born in Providence on August 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Anne A. (Long) Doonan. Mrs. Nute had been a library technician for many years at the James P. Adams library. She had been employed at the American Mathematical Society, Providence prior to her retirement. She was a graduate of Bryant College and St. Patrick's High School. Mrs. Nute was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a honorary life member of the Women's Guild. She had been a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer, a member of the Audubon Society, Bryant College and St. Patrick's alumni association. She leaves two sisters, Joan M. Gelinas and Marion E. Doonan, both of Rhode Island and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Patricia A. Nute and Michael J. Nute. Sister of the late Carol M. Lennon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, corners of Rt. 6 and 116, Danielson Pike, Scituate. Burial, at a later date will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Franconia, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph Church, PO Box 236, North Scituate, RI 02857. Calling hours Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
