Thomas was a weaver in Ireland. He also raised sheep. He entered the US through the Port of New York on 10 May 1880. He became a US citizen on 17 Oct 1888. He was a laborer and lived on Maple Street, Fall River, MA at the time of his naturalization. Michael Logan, 20 East Bank Street, Fall River, MA and John A Connolly, 3 Oliver Street, Fall River, MA were his naturalization witnesses.

Thomas married Catherine Meehan in Leitrim, Ireland. Catherine was born in Leitrim, Ireland. She died in Fall River, MA. She was buried in St Patrick Cem, Fall River, MA.

5. Patrick Logan (Thomas E) was born in 1865 in Drumgeaglon, Carrick-On-Shannon, Leitrim, Ireland. He died on 21 Sep 1938 in Fall River, MA, USA. He was buried in St Patrick Cem, Fall River, MA. 

Patrick earned his living as a chauffeur and a gardener for the Osborne family on Rock Street, Fall River, MA.
"His tomato soup would be on his mustache when he ate lunch and the thumbnail on his right hand was so thick he could use it as a screwdriver. He made a four wheel wagon that we could ride in his basement," Eleanor Higgins McGill.
At time of death he resided at 811 Oak Grove Ave., Fall River, MA. He was a member of the YMIACTA& B Society in Fall River for 49 years.

Patrick married Maria Felicia Sweeney daughter of Daniel Sweeney and Julia McNamara on 16 Oct 1895 in Sacred Heart Ch, Fall River, MA. Maria was born on 20 Feb 1863 in New Bedford, MA. She died on 11 Dec 1946 in Fall River, MA. She was buried in St Patrick Cem, Fall River, MA. 

Maria was born on Prospect St, New Bedford, MA. See Vol 3, page 50 of New Bedford births on microfilm at New Bedford Public Library. Prior to her wedding she lived on the corner of Hanover and Locust Streets in Fall River. Father Colgan officiated at her marriage. Joseph Logan acted best man and Miss Annie Smith did the honors as bridesmaid. She is buried in Plot 17, Grave 844, St Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, MA.
"After her husband Patrick died, she would visit with us at our home on Rosedale Street, Fall River, MA. She would want us to check out her house by looking under the beds etc., etc. when we walked her home. I remember her rocking my sister Mary when she was a baby on Rosedale Street. She died in our front bedroom on Rosedale Street on the one day that my mother took off to visit me in the hospital in Boston (pediatric affiliation). After Patrick died, I remember grocery shopping for her (very small quantities) at the neighborhood store. She lived at 811 Oak Grove Ave., Fall River, MA," Eleanor Higgins McGill.

6. Thomas Edward Logan (Thomas E) was born on 27 Nov 1872 in Drumgeaglon, Carrick-On-Shannon, Leitrim, Ireland. He died on 10 Jun 1952 in Fall River, MA, USA. 

During the 1940's Thomas was Public Works Commissioner for the city of Fall River, MA. He was a house building contractor. He had a summer home at Horseneck Beach during the 1930's. 

Thomas married Margaret Jane Flaherty daughter of James Flaherty and Elizabeth Logan on 19 Feb 1900 in , NJ. Margaret was born on 12 Jul 1878 in NJ. She died on 22 Oct 1954 in Fall River, MA. She was buried in St Patrick Cem, Fall River, MA.

Clare had a Master's Degree Education, Columbia Univ. She was a member: Rhode Island State Nurses Assoc, Rhode Island League for Nursing Volunteers in Action, New England Fellowship, and E Providence Historical Society. She was a charter member and Vice Pres of Delta Epsilon, founder and officer of American Assoc of Nurse Exuctives. She was a member Women's Health and Education Fund, Dean's Advisory Committee of the URI College of Nursing. She was a board member Women's Center of Rhode Island and Opera RI.

17. Catherine Eleanor Logan (Patrick, Thomas E) was born on 30 Dec 1898 in Fall River, MA. She was christened in St Patrick Chrch, Fall River, MA. She died on 9 Aug 1964 in Fall River, MA. She was buried in St Patrick Cem, Fall River, MA.

"My parents had varied interests during their lifetime.
"Mother liked to figure skate as a young woman; into competition tennis. She had a beautiful contralto voice and was involved in music as far back as I can remember - standing in the aisle at Holy Name Church directing the children at mass on Sunday or in the choir.
"She had a long interest in scouting, as a leader before her marriage and as the leader of a girls group at St Vincents Orphanage in Fall River, MA. Seeing the need there, my mother established an early version of "big sisters" at the orphanage with women from the Catholic Club taking an interest in the children.
"Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the B M C Durfee Trust Company in Fall River, MA.
"My mother was able to make bird calls to the extent that they would answer her," Eleanor Higgins McGill.
Catherine resided at 154 Oliver Street, Fall River, MA prior to her marriage. Rt Rev James E Cassidy officiated at her wedding. The new couple lived for a while in New Bedford, MA. Catherine died at home at 20 Rosedale St, Fall River, MA. 
She and James went to Niagra Falls, NY on their honeymoon.

Catherine married James Joseph Higgins son of Patrick J Higgins and Bridget A Diskin on 15 Jun 1925 in St Patrick Ch, Fall River, MA. James was born on 9 Dec 1890 in Fall River, MA. He was christened in St Patrick Chrch, Fall River, MA. He died on 16 Feb 1977 in Lexington, MA. He was buried in St Patrick Cem, Fall River, MA. 

"The Post Office was part and parcel of my father who began his career as a sub when a young man and retired as postmaster after forty years of service.
"His involvement in whatever he did was "his best",i.e., taking a six week leave of absence as Grand Knight to direct a Knights Of Columbus fund raiser production or his later interest in the Serra Club, a lay organization for the support of vocations.
"At one time, my father got into raising Bantam and White Crested Black Polish chickens for show and this kept his interest for several years. His relaxation or hobby was reading", Eleanor Higgins McGill.
Prior to marriage he resided at 701 King Philip Street, Fall River, MA. For a short while after marriage he lived and sold autos in New Bedford, MA. For most of his married life he lived at 20 Rosedale Street, Fall River, MA. He was a graduate of Durfee High, Fall River, MA.
As a US Army lieutenant in WW I, he was stationed at Gen. Pershing's headquarters where he was in charge of Army post offices in France. He:

-left US on 14 Mar 1918; returned to US 24 Mar 1919

Edward graduated Durfee High, Fall River, MA. He retired as a sergeant in the Boston, MA police department.

James graduated Coyle High School, Taunton, MA and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. He spent his working life as an artist in Georgia and Oklahoma. He was owner of James K Sullivan Advertising Agency in Tulsa, OK.

31. Eleanor Marie Higgins RN (Catherine Eleanor Logan, Patrick, Thomas E) was born on 24 Jan 1927 in St Luke Hosp, New Bedford, MA. She was christened in Feb 1927. 

Eleanor attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Academy of the Sacred Hearts in Fall River, MA graduating in 1944. Her parents resided at 73 Carroll St, New Bedford, MA when she was born. She graduated from the Union Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She attended Boston University School of Nursing and the University of Rhode island. For most of her married life she has been a homemaker.
She was honored with the Good Samaritan Award of Catholic Family Services of Portsmouth, VA in May 1988. She was one of the founders of the Chesapeake, Va CROP WALK FOR HUNGER and is involved in a number of other community activities. 
Eleanor has written one to four newsletters per year to family and friends since 1972. Copies of these letters have been saved and are in a three ring binder at each of the homes of her four children.

Eleanor married Francis Joseph McGill Jr son of Francis Joseph McGill Sr and Bridget Agnes Veronica Connor on 27 Jun 1959 in Holy Name Ch, Fall River, MA. Francis was born on 8 Mar 1929 in Glenwood Ave, Pawtucket, RI. He was christened in 1929 in St Raymond Ch, Providence, RI. 

Frank was born on the second floor of a two family tenement house. The address was 255 Glenwood Avenue in the South Woodlawn Section of Pawtucket, RI. Later when his parents purchased the house they moved downstairs to 253 Glenwood. 
Frank: attended St Raymond Parochial Grammar School, Providence; St Raphael Academy, Pawtucket and the University Of Rhode Island (Industrial Management).
When he was nine years of age he had an Evening Bulletin newspaper route (30 customers) in Providence. He was in the third grade in grammar school. He was peddling them on the afternoon of the "38" hurricane. He was able to deliver about half of them before he had to quit because of downed trees and powerlines. About 600 people were killed. He had a Pawtucket Times newspaper route in Pawtucket (100 customers) when he was in the seventh and eighth grade of grammar school.
He still found time to blow the bugle in the St Raymond School band and serve as an altar boy at St  Raymond's Church on North Main Street in Providence. He was on the school track and basketball team. On Sunday afternoons the neighborhood kids would attend the movies at the Hope Theater on Hope Street in Providence. The ticket cost nine cents. He and Billy Martindale were walking home from the theater one Sunday afternoon. Billy's father (a veteran of WWI) picked them up in his car. He said that the Japanese had just bombed Pearl Harbor.
When he was in high school he worked part time at Riverside and then Swanpoint cemeteries. He worked at the New England Bakery until they found out that he was fifteen years of age. The management questioned him as to why there was only a four month gap between his and his sister Marie's birthdays. He worked for short periods at Royal Electric Co, Miller Electric Co, General Cable Co and Fram Corp. all in Pawtucket. 
He served a four year apprenticeship, as an aviation metalsmith, at Quonset Point, Naval Air Station, RI; was employed over forty years at Naval Aviation Depot Quonset Point, RI and Naval Aviation Depot Norfolk, VA; retired as a supervisor in the Production Engineering Department at Naval Aviation Depot Norfolk in 1993. He was first an intelligence and reconnaisance scout and then an infantryman in a rifle company in Korea during that war (1952). He served with the 2nd Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division in Korea. He received the Combat Infantry Badge.
When first married he and wife Eleanor lived in a second floor tenement on Chestnut Avenue in Cranston. They purchased their first home for eleven thousand dollars on Brandon Road in the Friendly Community area of Cranston. They sold the Brandon Road Dutch Colonial style home when Frank was transferred to Virginia. 
"Frank's hobby is genealogy," said Eleanor.

Francis and Eleanor had the following children:

   + 64 F ii. Elizabeth Agnes McGill RN was born on 20 Jul 1962. Elizabeth married Douglas Johnson.
   + 65 F iii. Andrea Catherine McGill was born on 16 Dec 1963. Andrea married Hans Reddinger
   66 M iv. James Francis McGill was born on 30 Dec 1966
