DERBYSHIRE LOOK UP EXCHANGE

DERBYSHIRE LOOK UP EXCHANGE

*** Volunteers needed ***

Please e-mail Kaye Christian if you are willing to add your name to this list. Give the full title(s) of any reference you are prepared to check. Suitable items would include tax lists, electoral rolls, directories, census indexes, indexed parish registers etc., etc.

Please also e-mail me if you spot a searchable resource on-line that would be helpful to others so that it can be added to this list.

Please let me know if you find any broken links ON THIS PAGE.

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST

The following is a list of reference works on Derbyshire which volunteers are willing to search for specific entries. To ask for a look-up, please click on the name by the reference. Requests should be specific - do not ask for general research. Abuses of the kindness of these volunteers will probably cause them to withdraw their names, so please don't ask for all references to a common name, or for time-consuming research. Don't expect volunteers to have access to any document or reference other than those listed by their name.

The more you know, and the more specific you can be, the better we can help you. Blanket requests will almost certainly be met with "I'm sorry but....". Help us to help you - BE SPECIFIC.

**Please quote Derbys Look-up in the subject line, and say which document you wish to be searched.**
Many volunteers have documents covering more than one county.

Many of the sources used for these lookups are the result of the dedication and hard work of a Family History Society. Many Family History Societies produce publications related to their county. You may want to consider purchasing your own copy of relevant resources to aid your research. Some Societies sell their publications on-line, and can be found on their web pages. Another useful source of publications can be found at Genfair - the online family history fair. You may also wish to consider supporting research in this area by joining the society. Details can be found at their respective web-sites or see: FFHS Members List .
