Hours: Monday through Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Sunday The purpose of the Van Zandt County Library is to provide educational, cultural and entertainment opportunities for the citizens of Van Zandt County.
The library operates under the supervision of the Van Zandt County Commissioners' Court. It also exists as a tenant of the City of Canton by virtue of the City's gift of land upon which the library building stands, and other aid and/or service.
The Van Zandt County Library is a member of the Northeast Texas Library System, the regional arm of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
The Friends of the Van Zandt County Library is a non-profit support organization of county citizens, formed to aid the library through various programs and fundraising activities within the county for the sole purpose of benefitting the library.
This library is also participates in the Texas State Library's TexShare program. Local citizens who have a valid library card may access this genealogical resource so helpful to county researchers.
This library is a modern facility, fully computerized and up to date. It has a website which can be accessed to search the library's collection.
