I am currently stationed in Seoull Korea and will be returning soon (Jan 98). I am looking for any information on the Adames family name. I was raised by my maternal grandparents, the Ozunas. I would like to provide this info for my children for future reference. Thanks.

Wanting information from all descendants of colonists from Fisher and Miller's Colony, including Coke, Tom Green, Runnels, Concho, McCulloch, San Saba, Mason, Schleicher, Irion, Kimble, Menard, and Sutton counties. These are the counties that were actually within the grant and contain lands distributed to the colonists. I have indexes of Contracts (papers signed in Germany to join the Society), Transfers (papers to sign over half of the colonist's land to the Society and Fisher and Miller), and am now compiling a list of people that actually received land within the colony. Other related counties should include Comal, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Bexar, and many southeast Texas counties.

I am looking for any information on a J. Frank ADCOCK b.1877 in Rutherford Co. Tenn. All I know is from a family Bible that says he is buried in Texas. His father was Joe Sawyer ADCOCK b.1857 and his mother was Tennie GIBSON .

I am looking for any info on Reuben ADCOCK. Was he the father of William ADCOCK and grandfather of William J. ADCOCK and Julius Calvin ADCOCK. I have traced Reuben back to 1850 census in Monroe county, Alabama. I also believe Reuben had a brother in Monroe county, Alabama named John ADCOCK. I know that Reuben was born cir.1798 in Georgia. I am attempting to research the Frank E. BECK familiy. I have not been able to verify his entry into the US. The Family has also thought he came to this country when he was 3, which would be in 1876. Entry on 1910 census would indicate he entered in 1883. I have not located this BECK family on the 1880 census. I find him on the 1900 and 1910 census. Frank died suddenly in 1918. I know where Frank and Mittie are buried. They were my g- grandparents. He married Mittie BROOM, daughter of W.A. BROOM and Nancy THRONTON. KING and HALL:I am searching for ANY info. re: the surnames KING or HALL. Surely someone in Burnet or the surrounding counties has heard of these names. My grandfather John HALL, says on his marriage certificate that he was from Burnet,TX. Born ca. 1860. He says his father's name was David HALL and his mother's name was Mary and, or, Annie KING. Grandpa went on a cattle drive in the early 1880's with the following men; Bud ALLISON, Jake WILLIAMSON, Cal STUART/STEWART, Jerry (Bowlegs) BUCKELY, Charlie DAVLIN, Sterling CROSS, Smokey HARVEY, Sam BASS, Bill HUMBLE, Fred GARDNER, Sam BENSON & John LEE the trail boss. I know they went through Colorado, because there was some trouble in CO with some vigilanties and they thought "ol Sterling CROSS was dead." The drive was for A.J. DAVIS, S.T. HAUSER and Granville STUART (copper mine kings of MT). The DHS brand. A cousin says that she thought grandpa said they were all related, or at least Bud ALLISON and grandpa were cousins. Grandpa John spent his remaining days in MT and died there in 1937. His life before arriving in MT remains a mystery. He says his mother died in TX in 1872 but, makes no mention of his father, other than his name. Does anyone know if any of the above names are of German decent? I thought HALL was English or Irish. Does anyone know how Kingsland, TX got it's name? Does anyone know how I can access old Texas Ranger records? Maybe grandpa changed his name.

Researching MCCLANAHAN, John Henry Maj. who died in Victoria County, Tx Sept. 10, 1868. He had a brother, Yelventon O MCCLANAHAN. The brothers came to Victoria from Roanoke County, Virginia in approx 1852. John practiced law in Victoria. He married Virginia Lee HARRISON in 1859. They had a daughter, Mabel and a son, Henry Harrison who was born in 1868. Virginia's parents were George W. HARRISON and Emma Bland HARRISON, who came to Victoria in approx 1848. The HARRISON's started the Episcopal Church in Victoria on April 4, 1869.

Thanks to the great Victoria County site, I've learned a little more about my ggggrandfather, William Parsons MILLER and his wife, Elizabeth GRACE. They appear in the 1850 census. He served as mayor of Victoria at some point. Their daughter, Mary Ann MILLER married George William GARNETT--their son, Harrold GARNETT, married Betty C SIMPSON. This is my direct line. I am seeking ancestors Abraham Nichols (Nicholds/Nickols/Nickolds), German immigrant or son of German immigrants, was in El Campo, TX area circa 1900 with wife and children. He married __?__ Johnson (unsure of last name...a Native American). Fourth child, daughter Girtrude "Girtie" Nichols was born May 16, 1887 (probably in Palacios, TX area), married Frank Borrer circa 1915 in Palacios, TX. Their son Charlie is my father. I'm looking for my great grandfather CARL/KARL SASSMANNSHAUSEN (b. June 7. 1835, Hilchenbach, Westfalia, Prussia) who immigrated about 1870/75without his wife and son. His professions were farmer,tanner and glue boiler. We don't know if he shortenedor transformed his surname after his arrival in USA. He married again in USA (a german born wife; his firstwife died in Germany in 1875), he and his "new" family (about 2-3 children, no names and dates)had regularlycorrespondance with their relatives in Germany and especially with his son Wilhelm (1865-1929). The letters got lost during second world war.Oral history tells that he first settled in Laredo/TX.Later he removed to Salado/TX where he died (???).

My great grandfather, Elias Kavanaugh STANLEY, b. 16 April 1846, died in Victoria County 23 July 1918. He hadn't lived there long, and after he died, his widow, Emmaline H. REYNOLDS, moved to Houston to live with her children. Their youngest son, Jesse Lee STANLEY married in Victoria Co. to Mae MATHIS. I would like to know more about Mae's family and where Jesse and Mae lived. I know they had two sons named Milton and Allen Ray. Does anyone know what happened to this family?

Need help, I am looking for a Thomas B. WILLIAMS, there is a Thomas B. WILLIAMS who applied for CSA Pension and residence is listed as Panola Co.. The Thomas I am looking for would have arrived in Panola County cir.1870 from Newton County MS with a wife named Lovey and at least 3 children; Dewitt, William and Leah. Thomas' occupation was a wagon maker in Henry Co. TN, in 1850. Thomas left Henry County TN, during or shortly after the war and moved to Newton Co. MS. He packed up the wife and kids then moved to Texas prior to 1870. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
