Abilene Reporter News, Weds Jan 08, 1958, pg 9B "T.C. RICHARDSON Sr, 85, retired farmer who
lived 56 years in the Hamby community prior to moving to Abilene last March..... died Tuesday at his home
534 E.N. 19th in Abilene....Native of Kentucky ,born Jan 11, 1872 near Horse Cave, KY....married Virgie
Norah Slaughter Dec 28, 1898 in KY and in 1901 moved to the Hamby community. Survivors wife, 4 sons
T.C. Jr of Big Spring, Claude A. of Wauwatosa, Wis, A.B. and Howard B. 34 E.N. 19th in Abilene; 2
daughters Mrs Fred H. Blumentritt of Odessa and Mrs Lela Foster of Torrance, Calif; 3 brothers Dr J. J. of
Fort Worth and Marshall and Mitt Richardson of Horse Cave, KY; 3 sisters Mrs Tom Slaughter and Mrs
Ollie Perkins of Hardyville, KY and Mrs F.H. Vaughn of Campbellsville, KY; 10 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.

The Coleman Voice 4 December 1908 WEDDED IN BUGGY. Merkel Young Man Comes to Abilene and Gets
popular Young Lady. From The Taylor County News:J.D. Pitzer of Merkel and Miss Beulah Welch of Abilene,
were married while sitting in a buggy in front of the First Christian church in this city Wednesday evening, the
words which made them man and wife being pronounced by Rev. GH. Morrison, pastor of the South Side Christian
church to perform the ceremony, but could not find him. No one witnessed the ceremony except a Mr. and Mrs.
Davis of Merkel. The newly wedded couple departed immediately after the ceremony for Merkel, driving through
in the buggy in which they were married, and will make their home in that city. Mr. Pitzer is employed as a beekeeper
for the Texas & Pacific railroad company at Merkel and is an excellent young man. His bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. C.E. Welch of this city, and she is a charming and very popular young woman. The News joins their many
friends in extending congratulations and best wishes. [Ed--Miss Beulah Welch is a niece of Mesdames Jerry Harbour
and E.A. McDaniel of Coleman.]
