MOSIER - My ancestor, Jeremiah K. Mosier, and his sons William and Thomas lived in the area just north of Fort Worth in the late 1850s through early 1860s. Jeremiah died their in 1867. I believe the area they lived in is now called Mosier Valley. I am looking for any information on the history of Mosier Valley or the MOSIER family in the area. I am wanting to find my Texas relatives. I know that Lafayette S. SIMPSON, born in Erath county in 1882, older brother of my grandfather Thomas Simpson, married Selma _______ and lived in Ft. Worth from around 1920 until at least 1941. The 1935 city directory lists him as a ‘solicitor’ and living on Mansfield Rd., later South Riverside. They had at least one child, Lafayette P. I am seeking information on the Price family who lived in and around Tarrant county in the 1870's through 1900. William Walter( born 1831) and his wife Marena (born 1833) lived with their son William Henry Price (born 1862). William Henry Price was married 4 times. First, in 1880 in Tarrant County to Mary A. Hix, a woman with a son named James ( not Will's child). Second he married Lucinda Brooks and third he married Ada Whitten. His last wife was my grandmother Cynthia Jane Strickland. William and Marena had a daughter Lavesta (born 1866) who married a man named Bragg and had a daughter Lilly M. Bragg born in 1887. The father and son dug the first water well in Fort Worth. I have been told that it is still there and that their names are on the plaque. I would like to know if someone in Fort Worth could confirm that for me. I am attempting to find information about my maternal great-great grandparents Louis A. and Sarah CAHAN (CAHEN, COHEN). Louis appears on the 1851, 1852, 1853, and 1854 Tax Assessment Lists for Tarrant County, Texas. It is suspected that he and Sarah were married in Tarrant County as their first child, Hannah Elizabeth, was born on 7 February 1851. They do not appear in the 1850 Census, however.

My G-grandfather, Thomas Jefferson "Tag" Sharp had a brother named Robert Henry Sharp who moved from Choctaw or Winston Co., MS to Tarrant, Co., TX about 1868. Robert Henry Sharp married first to Fannie Henderson about 1867 in Mississippi. He may have married second to Fannie White on 23 January 1888. His children were Nora, Ellen, Clifton, and possibly an unknown female. According to family stories, Robert Henry Sharp died when he was struck by lightning while standing on the front porch of his home. Would like to correspond with anyone researching the Sharp family in Tarrant Co.

I have been unable to locate the burial site of my great grandfather, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN VANTREESE, who died on Dec. 31, 1913 at the Masonic Home in Arlington. Death Certificates states that he was buried in Arlington on Jan. 1, 1914 but he is not listed as being buried in any of the known cemeteries. I have also walked all known cemeteries. I am searching for information on Martha McPherson and William J. Bell who were married in Tarrant County in 1879. I believe they were my great-great-grandparents. By 1881 they were in Arkansas where their first child, Mary Jane, was born. Martha was born in Texas around 1862. Family stories say Martha's mother's name was Normandy Palsgrove, but we aren't certain of the spelling or whether this is even true. Any information about Martha and William or their parents would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for any information on W.W.FITCH, who resided in Letot Texas in 1903. His description of where he lived, as follows: My place is 8 miles north of Ft. Worth on Pike Road. He purchased the land in 1903, 160 acres. He also stated he was 2 miles from the railroad station where the mail came in. There must have been a post Office there, as the envelope the letter was mailed in carries a Letot, Texas POSTMARK. Any help will be appreciated.
