Dr. W. A. Duringer, 75, resident of Fort Worth since 1875 and a physician of wide reputation, died Thursday at his home after an illness of several months. His death followed by two days that of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Hovey.

Dr. Duringer and his family came to Fort Worth 62 years ago and gained wide recognition as a physician and surgeon. He was a Knight Templar, Shriner, an Elk, an Eagle and a Pythian. He was president of the old Fort Worth Medical College for two years before it affiliated with Texas Christian University; chief surgeon for the old Orient Railroad in Texas, general surgeon for the Rock Island, division surgeon for the Frisco, local surgeon for the Katy and Central, chief surgeon for Armour and Company and consulting surgeon for the Order of Eagles.

He was born in 1861, in Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Jacob and Sarah Duringer, and married Bernice J. Hovey in 1897. Survivors are his widow, a son, William Hovey Duringer, a brother R. E. Duringer, of Fort Worth, and a nephew, Dr. W. C. Duringer.
