Historic Oakwood Cemetery
with Calvary Cemetery & Old Trinity Cemetery
of Fort Worth, Texas

Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth's second oldest community cemetery, was also known as City Cemetery or New City Cemetery in its early days. It is sometimes confused with Pioneers Rest which was the first to be known as City Cemetery and later as Old City Cemetery. Old Trinity and Calvary Cemeteries were added to the Oakwood complex later to serve the African American and Catholic communities.

Although Oakwood wasn't established until 1879, there are death dates in the book ranging from 1818 through 1992. For burials later than this, you must contact the office at Oakwood Cemetery, who oversees all three cemeteries in this complex.

Yoder and published in 1994 by the Fort Worth Genealogical Society. The book contains a compiled listing of burials, select obituaries, biographies and photographs.
