Flint School - Prior to 1914, the children living in the area ten miles northeast of Kress were going to the Wright School, and riding horses eight miles to get there. Some of the men of the community arranged to have a school on the Drake ranch, taught by one teacher. Those living in the Flint community took pride in it and felt that the school and community had a significant part in pioneering the area. Swisher County Museum

Lakeview School - Lakeview School was organized in 1891, and was a frame wood structure. It was moved to a different location in 1902, and used until 1916. A two room brick building was placed at the same site, eight miles west of Tulia, on Highway 86. The land on which the school was built was donated by Mr. G. F. Tomlinson, one of the trustees. McGuire School - Jefferson R. McGuire came to Swisher County in 1891. Bertha Ann Ashby came to visit her aunt, Mrs. Ferd Faulkner, and met J. R. McGuire. They were married May 12, 1896. They first lived in a dugout and one-room house, and in 1909 built a two-story house. That same year Mr. McGuire gave land for a school, and both the school and the community were named McGuire. The building served as both a church and a school. Mr. McGuire was a school trustee for many years, and served as a county commissioner for Precinct 4 in 1900 and some time thereafter. From 1918-1920 Lucile Wilson Youngblood taught at the McGuire School and boarded with the McGuire family. Swisher County Museum
Price School - Price School was located in the Whitfield community, with about 60 students. The school consolidated with Kress in 1948. Swisher County Museum
