Allen, Vera	Mrs. Vera Allen, 63 years old, died Friday in Amarillo where she had been for the past three months. Funeral services were held at the Tulia First Methodist Church Friday afternoon. Officiating minister was Rev. J. O. Quattlebaum, pastor. Burial was in the Old Runnels Cemetery at Ballenger under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mrs. Allen was born October 18, 1889. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ora Vaughn and Mrs. Reba Fletcher, both of Amarillo, her mother, four brothers, one sister, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Armstrong, Fred	Bro. W. P. Dennis conducted final rites for Fred Armstrong, lifetime resident of the Panhandle, which were held from Central Church of Christ on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Armstrong died on Thursday morning at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo, following a two months illness. Mr. Armstrong was the son of pioneer Panhandle residents. He was born in Swisher County February 11, 1893. He was engaged in farming near Tuha until about a year ago when he moved to Amarillo. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Church of Christ. A military service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wallace Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, ACHSA ARMSTRONG, two daughters, Mrs. Frances Lepine, Norfolk, VA and Mrs. Jean Hood, Tulia; three granddaughters; four sisters, Mrs. Viola Loftin and Mrs .LuLu Ward, both of Tulia, Mrs. Eva Curb, Canyon and Mrs. Ethel McCasland, Clovis, NM and two brothers, Bill Armstrong of Happy and Harrison Armstrong, Ft. Baggarly, Flora	Mrs. H. M. Baggarly died early Tuesday morning in Swisher County Hospital where she had been in a coma since suffering g a stroke January 24. Funeral services have been set for Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Tulia First Baptist Church of which she was a member, with Rev. W. Neil Record officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. C. John Westhof, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Baggarly was born March 9, 1988 at Lamar, Missouri. She was married to H. M. BAGGARLY of Odessa, MO in 1896. They moved to Happy, TX in 1906 where he was a partner in the first business establishment there, the Plains Lumber and Grain Co. Mr. Baggarly died in 1942. Mrs. Baggarly made her home in Tulia since 1946. Survivors include a son, H. M. Baggarly, publisher of The Tulia Herald; a daughter, Mrs. R. L. Smith of Happy; one granddaughter, Mrs. Edward Flaherty of Happy; and two grandchildren, Pat and Mike Flaherty. A brother and sister preceded her in death during the past six months.
Bagley, Alfred Thomas	Funeral services for Alfred Thomas Bagley, 41, of Kress were held Sunday afternoon at Dublin. Burial was in Dublin Cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Bagley died early Saturday morning in a Plainview hospital. He had been in failing health for several months. Although a native of Swisher County, he had spent most of his life in San Saba County before returning to Kress to farm two years ago. He was a member of the Hall Baptist Church of San Saba. He was born August 22, 1910 near Kress. He married MISS LEATRICE BROWN of Lakeview. Survivors include his wife, two children, Joyce Elizabeth and John Thomas, both of Kress; two sisters, Mrs. H. D. Lively of Kress and Miss Hazel Bagley of Plainview and a brother, M. G. Bagley of Kress. The Tulia Herald, 26 June 1952.
Barton, Sarah Josephine	Mrs. Sarah Josephine Barton, 73 years old, wife of M. A. BARTON of Tulia, died Sunday in Swisher County Hospital. She was born Dec. 5, 1878 in Alabama and had lived in Swisher County for 30 years. She was married July 26, 1900 in Fannin County. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Primitive Baptist Church, Elder S. J. Ellis officiated assisted by W. H . Fox. Wallace Funeral Home directed burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include the husband; two sons, T. J. Barton of Springfield, MO; and S. M. Barton of Tulia; 4 brothers, T. M. Malone and Bass Malone, both of Tulia, L. K. of California and G. Beck, Lenora Victoria	Funeral services for Mrs. Lenora Victoria Beck, 81, of Plainview were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Kress Methodist Church. Mrs. Beck, mother of Mrs. Frank Armstrong of Tulia died early Monday morning at her home. Interment was in Kress Cemetery. Mrs. Beck was born March 20,1871 at Mena, Arkansas. She came to Texas with her parents when she was a child. The family settled in Brown County and it was there that she was married to the late V. A. BECK in 1889. They moved to Kress in 1909 and for ten years he was Justice of the Peace and employed in the post office there. The couple moved to Plainview in 1945. Mr. Beck died there in 1948. Mrs. Beck was a member of the Plainview First Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Skinner, and Mrs. Maude Behrends, both of Plainview; Mrs. Armstrong; Mrs. Vera Hamilton, Clovis, NM; a sister, Mrs. Emma Keating, Tulia. Beckman, Pauline	Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Beckman, 46 years old, were conducted Tuesday morning at St. Williams Catholic Church. Rev. Kevin Heyburn officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Umbarger, under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home, Tulia. Mrs. Beckman, wife of Henry Beckman, died suddenly Friday at the family home two miles west of Tulia. Survivors, besides the husband and four daughters, Genevieve, Bernice, Annette and Edna Katherine, all of Tulia; her mother Mrs. Anna Drager of Friona; nine brothers and two sisters. Bell, Fannie Caroline	Mrs. Fannie Caroline Bell, 89 years old, a long time resident of this city, died Sunday morning in a Lubbock hospital. Mrs. Bell had been hospitalized several weeks ago when she suffered a broken hip as the result of a fall in her home. Mrs. Bell was a native of Lamar County. Funeral services were held Monday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, S. J. Ellis, pastor of the Tulia Primitive Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lela Callaway of Yuma, AZ, Mrs. M. D. Altman, Lubbock; a son, C. E. Bell, National City, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Blankenship and Mrs. Maggie Roark, Graham; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Tulia Herald, 14 August 1952.
Berner, Dora Ann	Mrs. Dora Ann Berner, 80 years old, died Thursday night at the home of a son, John Berner, who lives three miles north and one mile west of Kress. Mrs. Berner had been ill for about two years. She was taken overland Friday to Springdale, AR where funeral services were held Sunday. Boeckman, Rev. G. A.	Funeral services for the Very Rev. G. A Boeckman, who died January 5, were held in Holy Family church, Nazareth, on January 9. Father Boeckman was pastor of the Holy Family parish for eight years. Present for the funeral rites were many of Father Boeckman's parishioners and friends, who came to pay their last respects. After the Mass in Holy Family church, the body was taken to Goldwater, Ohio for burial. A group of friends went to Ohio for the services. Among them were Mr. & Mrs. Ray Schulte, Mr. & Mrs. Art Kleman, Mrs. A. M. Heiman and Walter Schulte, all of Nazareth; Mr. & Mrs. Gus Dietz and Miss Bobbie Hafernik of Happy; Mr. and Mrs. Theo Halfiuann of Olfen and Martin Maas of Millersview. he Tulia Herald, 24 January 1952.
Brockman, F. J.	Funeral mass for Frank J. Brockman, age 77, a long time resident and retired farmer of Nazareth was conducted Tuesday morning at the Holy Family Church of Nazareth, the Very Rev. Peter Morsch read the last rites. Mr. Brockman died Saturday morning at his residence in Nazareth after an illness of some time. He was born April 7, 1875 at Ft. Madison, Iowa. He was warned to MISS JOSEPHINE HOELTING in Nebraska on October 22, 1901. They came to Texas in January of 1908 settling at Nazareth. He had been a continuous resident of Nazareth since that time. Survivors are his wife of Nazareth; 5 sons, George of Umbarger, Lawrence, Ernest and Arnold of Nazareth and Victor of Wichita Falls; three daughters, Mother Jane Francis Brockman OSB of Ft. Smith, AR, Mrs. Martha Ponder of Austin and Mrs. Leonard Endres of Huron, SD. There are two brothers, 23 grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Interment was in the Holy Family Cemetery at Nazareth under the direction of the Wallace Funeral Home. The Tulia Herald, 23 October 1952.
Bryan, Edward	Two months of intense suffering ended in death Sunday night for one of Tulia's most promising young men. He was Edward Bryan, 14 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam T. Bryan. Mr. Bryan is principal of the Tulia High School. Edward, a high school sophomore, would have been 15 on November 13. He was born November 13, 1937 at Quitaque. He moved with his family to Tulia in December 1946. Edward was a Boy Scout and in school was a member of the high school band, freshman basketball team and Thespian Club. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Central Church of Christ of which he was a member. Pall bearers were all members of the Young People's Sunday School class. Other members of the class provided the music. Survivors include his parents, a sister, Marilyn and a small brother, Neal. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Burnett, Mary Adeline Judgeons	Funeral services for Mrs. Ezra Burnett, 63, of Plainview, formerly of Kress, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Kress Church of Christ. T. J. Findley, Brownfield Church of Christ minister officiated. Interment was in the Kress cemetery. Mrs. Burnett died at the Plainview Hospital & Clinic Friday afternoon following an illness of about two years. She was Mary Adeline Judgeons before her marriage in 1922 at Sunset to EZRA BURNETT. The family moved to Kress from Sunset in 1924 and he farmed near Kress until his retirement in November of 1950. It was at that time that the family moved to Plainview. Survivors are the husband, a son, Elgin Taylor of Bowie; two stepsons, B. L. Burnett of Amarillo and Bruce Burnett of El Paso; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Mullin, Houston; Mrs. Medah Belle Fox, Bowie; Mrs. Vida Williams, Fairbanks, Alaska and Miss Doris Burnett, Plainview; two brothers W. R. Hudgeons, Torrence, CA; and Iva Hudgeons, Grisham, OR; three sisters, Mrs. Audie Howard, Long Grove, OK; Mrs. Alice McPhetridge, Ontario, CA and Mrs. W. C. Cantrell, Mrs. J. M.	Mrs. J. M. Cantrell, 92 years old, mother of Mrs. J. W. McGlaun, died at Mexia at the home of her son where she had made her home the past nine years. She was buried at Temple by the side of her husband. Mrs. McGlaun was at her bedside at the time of her death. The Tulia Herald, 24 April 1952.
Cantrell, J. T.	Funeral services for J. T. Cantrell of Miami, father of Mrs. O. B. Hinkle and Mrs. Paul Sullivan both of Tulia were held Wednesday afternoon on the courthouse lawn at Miami. The 62 year old pioneer Roberts county resident died Sunday afternoon following an illness of several years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge. The Tulia Herald, 8 May 1952.
Carlile, Mrs. Jennie	Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Carlile, 73 years old, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Hamlin. Bro. Lemoine Lewis of Abilene assisted by Bro. Warder Novak of Hamlin officiated. Mrs. Carlile died Monday night about 9 o'clock in Swisher County Hospital following a sudden attack a few hours earlier. She was visiting here in the homes of her two children, Marvin Carlile and Mrs. Sam Appleton. She had arrived here Sunday. Mrs. Carlile was born September 6, 1878 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Medkiff. She was married to H. T. Carlile in 1898 in Tennessee and in 1900 they came to Texas settling first at Arlington. About a year later they moved to a farm north of Peacock where they lived until his passing in 1938 at which time she moved to Hamlin where she lived at the time of her death. She united with the Church of Christ at the age of 28 and had been active in church work ever since. Those surviving include three sons, Marvin Carlile of Tulia, Howard Carlile of Colton, CA, and Ray Carlile of Stamford; three daughters, Mrs. Appleton of Tulia, Mrs. Herman Hulsey of Ballinger and Mrs. Eddie Jay of Hamlin, three brothers, John Medkiff of Arlington, Will Medkiff of Nashville, TN, and Jim Medkiff of Los Angeles, CA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The body was taken overland Tuesday afternoon to Hamlin by Wallace Funeral Home. Interment was in Aspermont Cemetery at Aspermont. Savage, Dr. Floyd E.	Death Tuesday morning claimed one of the Panhandle's most beloved educators, a former superintendent of Tulia Public Schools. Dr. Floyd E. "Pop" Savage, member of the West Texas State College faculty for 30 years died at 7:30 a.m. in the family home in Canyon. He had been in failing health for nine months. Dr Savage was 69 years old. His tenure in Tulia was prior to 1920. He retired in the summer of 1951. The Tulia Herald, 14 August 1952.
Scarborough, Mrs. Hester Lavina	Mrs. Hester Lavina Scarborough, 82, died Sunday morning in the family home in Amarillo. Mrs. Scarborough lived at Silverton until moving to Tulia in 1930. From there she went to Amarillo in 1943. She had been in ill health for about five years. A native of Tennessee, she was born Jan. 22, 1870. She was a member of the Amarillo First Assembly of God church. Among survivors are a son, J. H. Sisk, Oklahoma City; three daughters Mrs. Doskie Davis and Miss Maude Scarborough, both of Amarillo; and Mr.s Carrie Lake, Wichita, Kan.; two stepsons, Elvis and Tom Scarborough, both of Amarillo; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Bertha Sanders, Amarillo; Mrs. Annie Bell Sanders and Mrs. Elsie Lynn, both of Electra; and Mrs. Eunice Divenney, Portales, N. M.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Couch, Chicago, and 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great‑great grandchildren. The Tulia Herald, 26 June 1952.
Scott, Mrs. J. T.	A pioneer Tulia resident is dead. Mrs. Amanda Clayton Scott died Monday night at the family home following an illness of several months. A native of Texas, Mrs. Scott came to Tulia in 1890. She was married to J. T. SCOTT in 1898 in Tulia. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Central Church of Christ with W P. Dennis officiating. He was assisted by Rev. C. John Westhof. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Survivors include the husband; a son Shirley Scott of Tulia; a daughter, Faye Scott also of Tulia; a brother Monte Clayton, Tulia; three sisters, Mrs. John Potter of Clarendon, Mrs. Joe Brown, Amarillo and Mrs. Bret Pearson of Tulia and two grandsons, Jim Scott of Ft. Slade, Jesse B.	Services honoring the memory of Jesse B. Slade were conducted Wednesday afternoon in Blackburn Shaw Memorial Chapel, Amarillo with Rev. G. C. Applegate of Lockney, former pastor of the Hart Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Slade, long time resident of the Panhandle and South Plains, was found dead Sunday afternoon in his hotel room in Dimmitt. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was engaged in the oil and real estate business. Mr. Slade was born May 4, 1899 at Rosebud, TX and came to Amarillo with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Slade in 1902. During his business career he had lived in Kress, Hart, Plainview, Tulia and Dimmitt. At the time of his death he was engaged in the real estate business in Dimmitt and Hart. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors besides the wife are a son, James Bruton Slade; six sisters, Mrs. Mary V. Bassett, Mrs. J. B. Hines and Mrs. J. U. Kirkman, all of Amarillo; Mrs. J. S. Garrett, Carlsbad; Mrs. Senie S. Paylor, Houston, and Mrs. D. L. Connelly, Brownwood; and a brother, J. H. Slade, Carlsbad. The Tulia Herald, 1 May 1952.
Smart, C. A.	C. A. Smart, 65, brother of Mrs. R. E. Lumpkins, lost his life recently in a cotton stripper accident. The Levelland farmer apparently was caught in the machinery Saturday but was not found until Sunday when his son, Kirby Smart of Denver City and his family came to visit his father and found him in the machine. It required two hours to release the victim. Funeral services were held Monday at Norton at the Methodist Church with Rev. Clarence Stephens officiating. Burial was in Paducah. Rev. Russell McNally, son‑in‑law, officiated at the graveside rites. Pallbearers were nephews. Attending the services were Mr. and Mr. B. F. Lumpkins and Charles Bye of Amarillo, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Hancock, Mrs. Frank Kesler and son, Mr. and Mrs. R E. Lumpkins, Mr. And Mrs. R W. Lumpkins and M. E. Lumpkins. The Tulia Herald, 18 December 1952.
Smith, Mrs. Lavern	Mrs. Lavern Smith of Tahoka died at her home Feb. 26 at the age of 47. She was the daughter of A. L. Sanderson of Glenrose. She was born and reared in Sommerville County until her marriage in 1919 to FRANK SMITH. They moved the same year to Tahoka. She is a sister of Mrs. Edd Daniel of Tulia. Only 47 days before Mrs. Daniel lost a brother. Mr. and Mrs. Edd Daniel and children, Mrs. Ray Daniel of Tulia, and James Sanderson attended the funeral service Thursday afternoon at Tahoka. Smith, Ralph	Ralph Smith, 35 year old Negro, died instantly Sunday morning in west Tulia from gunshot wounds. Graveside rites for the dead man were conducted Tuesday morning at Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. Win. F. Hall, pastor of the Mediterranean Baptist church, officiated. Burial was under direction of Wallace Funeral Home. The Tulia Herald, 31 July 1952.
Smoot, Mrs. Charles	Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Smoot, 63 years old, of Tulia were held Wednesday afternoon at the Crosby Street Church of Christ. Earl Cantwell Silverton Church of Christ minister, officiated. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of the Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Smoot died Monday afternoon at her home. She had been in poor health about two years. She was born Oct. 13, 1888 in Jack County. She was married Feb. 20 1907 to CHARLES SMOOT who is among the survivors. Mrs. Smoot was a member of the Church of Christ. The family moved to the Plains in 1924 from Sentinel, Okla. In 1946 Mr. and Mrs. Smoot moved to Tulia. Other survivors are seven children: Mrs. Russell Teter, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Morris Jobe, Tulia; Mrs. Clyde Morris, Winham; Russell Smoot, Happy; Haskell Smoot, Tulia; Raymond Smoot, Tulia; and John Smoot, Olton. Smoot, Marsha Lynn	Marsha Lynn Smoot, 2 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Russell Smoot of Happy was dead on arrival at Swisher County hospital Tuesday morning. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Tulia, Rev. W. Neil Record, pastor officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery with services under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Survivors, besides the parents, are two brothers, Warren Lee and Gary Dean. The child became ill Monday. Her illness has been diagnosed as croup. The Tulia Herald, 6 November 1952.
Stovally, Mrs. Threacy	Mrs. Threacy Stovall, 89, died Saturday in Swisher County hospital. She had been a resident of Kelton until two years ago. She was born Feb. 11, 1863. She came to Texas in 1885 and to Wheeler County in 1908 from Granite. Mrs. Stovall had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Kemper since May of this year. She joined the Baptist church at Elmo in 1886. She married A. F. (BUD) STOVALL in 1885 at Elmo. He died in 1939. Funeral services were held in Kelton Monday afternoon at the Baptist Church. Pallbearers were grandsons. The body was taken to Wheeler by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Kemper, Tulia; Mrs. E. D. Kemper, Dallas; Mrs. E. E. Frost, Clovis; Mrs. Sam Stapp, Vega; Mrs. W. H. Johnson, Hereford and Mrs. Aubrey Pond, Shamrock; three sons, Henry Stovall, Bellevue; Arthur Stovall, Panhandle; and Lemon Stovall, Pampa; 40 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Waite, Lizzy	Final rites for Mrs. Lizzie Waite, a longtime resident of Happy, were held Sunday afternoon in the Wallace Funeral Chapel in Tulia. Rev. T. Marvin McBrayer of the Methodist Church in Happy presided. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Waite had no immediate survivors. The Tulia Herald, 31 January 1952.
Welker, Mrs. Julia Ettie	Mrs. Julia Ettie Welker, widow of the late J. W. Welker, died early Wednesday morning in a Plainview hospital. She suffered a broken hip in a fall Saturday at a Plainview rest home where she had been taken two weeks ago. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the First Methodist Church of which she was a member. Rev. J. O. Quattlebaum, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Welker, 89, was born 19 September 1865 in Clinton, Indiana. She was married 1886 to J. W. Welker. They moved first to Nebraska and to Vigo Park in 1908. She lived there until his death in 1927 at which time she moved to Tulia. Survivors include a son, J. H. Welker of Hale Center; two daughters, Mrs. A. P. Davies of Tulia and Mrs. s. M. Lewis of Kerrville; eighteen grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. The Tulia Herald, 14 August 1952.
Wesley, Mrs. Charles	Mrs. Charles Wesley, 33 years old, of Happy died Tuesday at Northwest Texas Hospital, Amarillo. Mrs. Wesley became ill Sunday and was taken to the Neblett Hospital in Canyon Sunday night. She was moved to Northwest Texas Hospital at two o'clock Monday morning and died there after undergoing brain surgery. Mrs. Wesley, the former Verda Inez Shipman, was born 9 November 1918 in Vera, Texas. She as a member of the Baptist Church. She as married to Charles Wesley in 1940 and they moved to Happy about a year ago when they purchased the old Jim Maxwell home. Survivors include her husband, Charles Wesley; two children, Charlene, age 11, and Ronnie, age 7; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Shipman of Happy; two sisters, Mrs. Ira Schribe of Wayside and Boyce Colwell of Canyon; brother Hollis Shipman of Happy. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon in the church at Wayside, Rev. Al Shaw, Baptist pastor of Happy, officiated assisted by Rev. Jack Jeter of Plainview, pastor of the Wayside Church. Whitman, Seth C.	Seth C. Whitman, 81, of Happy died at 9:30 Tuesday night in Swisher County Hospital in Tulia. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday in Happy. Hour of the rites had not been decided at press time. Mr. Whitman had never fully recovered from a broken leg, which he received in a fall on the ice. Wimberly, Mrs. Ova Avo	Mrs. Ova Avo Wimberly, 78 years old, wife of a pioneer Swisher County and Briscoe County stockman, died late Sunday night in Swisher County hospital following a stroke suffered Saturday night. She had been in poor health since a stroke last July. Mrs. Wimberly was born Feb. 27, 1874 in Lee County, Miss. She married A. C. WIMBERLY in 1891 in Stephens County, Texas. They moved to a ranch on the Briscoe‑Swisher county line in 1892. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1936. She was a lifelong and active member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted at the Tulia First Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. W. Neil Record, pastor officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery under direction of Wallace Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Carl Wimberly of Canyon and Clifford Wimberly of Vega; two daughters, Mrs. L. G. Connor of Tulia and Mrs. Townsend Douglas of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Tulia Herald, 20 March 1952.
Wright, Herman	Herman Wright, Amarillo auto salesman, died in an Amarillo hospital last Saturday morning at the age of forty. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist church of Floydada on Sunday afternoon. Among the survivors is Mrs. Ray Crabtree of Tulia. The Tulia Herald, 27 March 1952.
