MONTGOMERY, John Calvin, son of Joseph J. and Matilda MONTGOMERY. Married Emily WILLIAMS, daughter of John Riley and Sabra (Cooper) WILLIAMS. John and Emily MONTGOMERY moved to Georgetown, TX about 1848 thence to San Saba Co., where they settled on Upper Cherokee Creek. They had two girls and Emily d. in 1857 and she is buried at the Hanna Cemetery near Cherokee. John Calvin married three more times and had five more children including Maude, who m. Edgar Thomas Neal at San Saba, TX. MONTGOMERY, John Calvin, nephew and namesake of the above mentioned John Calvin. This man was b. in AR, an orphan, and was raised in San Saba Co. by his uncle, above. He m. Eugenia I. WILLIAMS in Meridian, TX in 1871, moved to Nolan Co., TX in 1880 and raised a family of ten. I would like to exchange info re any of the above surnames in San Saba Co. with like interested parties.

James Oliver NORRED b. 6 Oct 1832, Leake Co., Mississippi. He m. Margaret A. COON 1860 in Burnet Co. He was stationed at Camp McMillin in 1862 and was involved in several running fights with indians in San Saba & Llano Counties.

ISO of any descendants of MOORES or McNEILLS of San Saba County. My g-g-grandmother was Addie MOORE b. abt. 1849 Macon County, AL. In 1868 her, her brothers Micajah and Wesley, sisters Lucinda Jane and Virginia, and I think mother Mary Ann (Henley) MOORE, all migrated from Macon County, AL to San Saba. I know Micajah married, had children, died and is buried in San Saba with his wife Julia McNEILL. Lucy and Genny were last known to live in Brady, McCulloch County in 1935. I am searching for any information about this family and the McNEILL family. I have some small amounts of info on the MOORE family to share.

Reece married Julie Williams in 1836. One of these brothers had a son, John F. born July 6, 1849, who married Choctaw Indian girl named Atha Domez Bohana Fletcher born Jan 1851. My great grandfather was William Henry LEDBETTER m/Jennettie (maiden name?). Believe he or his father was in the Civil War (W. H. LEDBETTER shown on Lamar County Confederate Muster Rolls, Webbs Lamar Calvary (Ron Brothers). William Henry LEDBETTER found on St of TX Military Pension # 21090 and Jennettie Pension No. 35368 - San Saba Co TX. Know Jennettie was my great grandmother and they lived in San Saba County. Family said he was a Capt in the Texas Rangers. Also found W. H. LEDBETTER mentioned as being Officer in Wellborn's Alabama Mounted Volunteers under attack by Seminole Indians from Florida in 1837 possibly his father/grandfather. William Henry's children are Birdie (Bertha) Myrtle LEDBETTER TILL (my grandmother) b 1892 (on Jan 1920 14th Fed Census as 28 yrs old parents from TN (no County). other children Alice LEDBETTER MCNEIL, Jennettie LEDBETTER, Roy LEDBETTER and FRED LEDBETTER. Believe they were raised in San Saba County, Texas but am told Jennetti! e was a midwife and traveled and he traveled with the TX Rangers. Any info would be greatly appreciated by me and my 83 year old Mom who is curious about her ancestory and can't remember much! Help.
