Monthly Meeting Notices
The February 3 meeting, will be Floyd R. Miller. His topic will be "Using the Genealogical facilities of Clayton Library." Mr. Miller is an engineer for Exxon-Mobil and he is President of the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. More importantly he is experienced in researching lineages at Clayton.
The March 2 meeting, will be Monica Webb, executive Director of Hotel Beaumont. She will speak on the Restoration of Hotel Beaumont. We will try to arrange for a Saturday visit later in the month to observe first hand, the restoration taking place.
The April 6 meeting, is to be announced.
The May 4 meeting, will be Carolyn Howard. Carolyn is a native of Dallas and was in 1981 Cum Laude graduate of Baylor University. She is the Executive Director of the Beaumont Main Street Program which is Beaumont's non-profit downtown development corporation. Carolyn has been with the Main Street Program since 1986. Before coming to Beaumont, she was the Director of the Main Street Program in El Reno, Oklahoma. The El Reno program received many statewide awards including Best Economic Restructuring, Best Image Promotion, Best Rehabilitation and a Citation of Merit from the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office. Carolyn was named Executive Director of the Beaumont Main Street Program in 1992. We look forward to a very interesting program.
Please note: the meeting will be at a new location, which will be the Jefferson County Airport meeting room. This is in the main terminal building at the Airport. The time of the meeting is 7 pm.Upcoming Projects
