The land for the Bookout Cemetery and School was donated by Mary Ellen Boase Scrivner, who is buried in the cemetery as "Miss M.E. Scrivner" As you turn into the cemetery, the cemetery is on the right and the school was on the left before it was torn down. There was a second two-room school out on the highway (84) in Dermott. This school was moved to the fairgrounds in Snyder, Scurry County, TX. My mother attended this one. I have photos of both schools and will send them to you as well.
