SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm James Wiley 1907-2000 CLYDE – James Louis Wiley, 93, of Clyde and formerly of Snyder, died Thursday, Oct. 26, in a Clyde nursing home. Funeral service for Mr. Wiley is set for 1 p.m. Saturday in the Bible Baptist Church in Clyde with the Rev. Larry Hooper officiating. Graveside service is set for 4 p.m. Saturday in the Snyder Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Born Feb. 24, 1907 in Vaughan, N.M., his family moved to Floyd County when he was an infant. In 1917, the family moved to Snyder where he first attended school. Mr. Wiley completed Barber College in Fort Worth in 1925 and retired after 44 years as a barber, having barbered in Snyder, Sweetwater and Abilene. He moved to Clyde from Snyder in 1986. He married Livie Arizona Vaughan on Oct. 16, 1927 in Scurry County. She died in 1998. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Mae Williams; a grandson, Belton Ray Williams; three brothers, Walter, Clarence and Gene Wiley; and one niece, Pat Martin. Survivors include a daughter, Joy Wiley Bethea of Clyde; a sister, Willie Mae Flippin of Vega; a nephew, Bobby Joe Nolan of Snyder; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 this evening at Bailey Funeral Home.
