Funeral service for Mr. Sturdivant, 92, is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charles Day, pastor of the Ave. D Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Born May 3, 1908 in Scurry County, he married Mary Faye Fitzsimmons on June 19, 1956 in Clovis, N.M. A lifetime resident of Hermleigh and S nyder until moving to Bedford six years ago, he was a retired farmer and rancher and a longtime member of the Central Baptist Church in Hermleigh and a member of the Scurry County Sheriff’s Posse. Survivors include his wife, Mary Faye Sturdivant of Bedford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Vernon Hill of College Station and Ginger and Peter Schlereth of Granbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Josie Sturdivant of Colleyville; three sisters, Thelma Gregory and Faye Moore, both of Snyder, and Ann Eicke of Hereford; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening.
