Funeral service for Mrs. Mathews, 85, is set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Kenneth Barr will officiate and interment will follow in the Rochelle Cemetery. Born Oct. 31, 1914 in Placid, Tex., she married Clyde Mathews on Oct. 9, 1934 in Rochelle. He died in 1997. A life-long resident of McCulloch County, Mrs. Mathews was a homemaker and a member of the Rochelle Baptist Church, Rochelle PTA and Rochelle Study Club. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Mathews of San Angelo and Clydale Hampton of Brownwood; three other sisters, Billie Frenzel of Hobbs, N.M., Roxie Wiley of Garland and Jo Young of Brady; a brother, Pack Waddill of Brackettville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
