Joe Martin 

1912-2000 

COLORADO CITY – Joe Floyd Martin, a former Scurry County resident, died Sunday, Aug. 6, in a Bridgeport nursing center. 

Services for Mr. Martin, 87, are pending at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. 

Born Aug. 22, 1912 in Knox County, Mr. Martin was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and he later worked at the Texas Electric power plant at Lake Colorado City. 

Mr. Martin was a member of the 22nd and Austin Street Church of Christ where he had served as an elder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hall Martin. 

Survivors include two daughters, Dixie Holland of Paradise and Linda Clark of Abilene; a son, Larry Martin of Colorado City; a sister, Nettie Faye Gillespie of Marble Falls; and three brothers, I.E. Martin of Snyder, Bill Martin of Colorado City and formerly of Snyder, and Frank Martin of Lufkin.
