SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Sig Lloyd 1911-2000 SAN ANGELO - Sigmond "Sig" Lloyd, a former Scurry County resident, died Sunday, October 29, at his home in San Angelo. Funeral service for Mr. Lloyd, 89, is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Bill Butts, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Born Nov. 10, 1911 in Quitman, Mr. Lloyd was reared in Scurry County and he married Maggie Walker on Dec. 2, 1940 in Snyder. Mr. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army as an aviation engineer. He moved to San Angelo in 1946 and was service manger for Jim Bass Ford for 34 years. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Edna Lloyd; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Maggie Lloyd of San Angelo; a brother, C.D. Lloyd of San Angelo; a sister-in-law, Velma Lloyd of San Angelo; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
