SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Charles Kornegay 1928-2000 Charles Edward Kornegay, brother of Harold Kornegay of Snyder, died Thursday, Sept. 7, at his home after a lengthy illness. Funeral service for Mr. Kornegay, 71, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the Pipeline Road Church of Christ in Hurst. Burial will follow in Bluebonnett Hills Memorial Park. Born Sept. 20, 1928 in Milam County, he married Betty Jackson of Roscoe in 1950. They recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Kornegay served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later graduated from Texas Christian University. He was active in community affairs including coaching youth baseball. Mr. Kornegay was a retired Winn Dixie Scanning Coordinator of Texas Division. He was pre ceded in death by a son, David Charles Kornegay; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kornegay of Gause. Survivors include his wife, Betty Kornegay of Hurst; a daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Lt. Col. Gilbert Teague of Harvard, Ill.; two sisters, Martha Stevenson and Gladys Keith; and two other brothers, Arnold Kornegay and Cecil Kornegay; and four grandchildren.
