Jones 1916-2000 E.L. “Skeet” Jones, a native of Scurry County, died Saturday, Oct. 7, at his home in Snyder following a lengthy illness. Graveside service for Mr. Jones, 84, is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Snyder Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Bugg, Community Care Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Born Jan. 30, 1916 in Snyder, he married Jean Panter James on Sept. 10, 1984 in Dallas. A Methodist, Mr. Jones was the former owner and operator of Town and Country Meat Market. He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Jean Jones of Snyder; four stepdaughters, Connie Collier and Pamela Collom, both of Snyder, Kimberly Rice of Sundown and Deborah Tubb of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Ryan Tubb, Todd Collom, Joe Dan Collier, Bob Jones, Mike Smith, Charles Smith, DeVane Jones, Tanner Rice, Aubry Jones and Chad Etheridge.
