Adene Dixon 

1934-2000 

BROWNFIELD – Adene Dixon, a native of Scurry County, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, in Lubbock. 

Funeral service for Mrs. Dixon, 65, is set for 2 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beverly Titus officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery. 

Born Oct. 22, 1934 in Snyder, she married Stanley Dixon on Jan. 8, 1955 in Snyder. He died in 1985. 

She was a graduate of Texas Tech, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1969 and a master of education degree in 1978. She taught at Oak Grove Elementary from 1969 to 1994. 

Survivors include two daughters, Tony Joyer of Graham and Ellen Meeks of Mansfield; a sister, Dawnel Marshall of Abilene; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
