Funeral service for Mrs. Dawson, 81, is set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.L. Whitworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery. Born Sept. 13, 1918 in Mound, Tex., she was reared in Central Texas and married Jack Dawson on May 28, 1938. She lived in Oglesby, Oklahoma City, McGregor and Moody. The Dawsons owned and operated restaurants in McGregor and Moody for many years. She was a member of the Hilltop Christian Fellowship Church in Waco. Survivors include her husband, Jack Dawson of Moody; a son, Jack O. Dawson Jr. of Sugar Land; a daughter, Joyce Sparks of Austin; four other sisters, Marie McFadden of McGregor, Pearl Jones of Mound, Euna Owens of Lake Belton and Margie Parkinson of San Angelo; two brothers, Carold Kinsey of San Antonio and Luther Kinsey of Mineral Wells; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
