SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Verna Crawford 1905-2000 Verna Mary Crawford, a resident of Snyder the past 38 years, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral service for Mrs. Crawford, 95, is set for 2 p.m. Thursday in Colonial Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Miller Robinson, retired minister, and Dr. Tommy Culwell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Born June 24, 1905 in Comanche, she married Brad Crawford on March 11, 1929 in Brownwood. He died in 1962. A former resident of Lubbock and Seminole, Mrs. Crawford moved to Snyder in 1962. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher in Seminole and also taught Sunday school a number of years at the Greenhill Baptist Church in Snyder. A homemaker, she was a member of the Colonial Hill Baptist Church. She also was preceded in death by a son, Brad Crawford Jr.; a grandson, Brett Bell; four sisters; and five brothers. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Bob Bell of Snyder; four grandsons, Bruce Bell of Midland, Lance Crawford of Kerrville, Dr. Kevin Crawford of Lubbock and Kyle Crawford of Brownsville; seven great-grandchildren, Amber LaMonte of Hempstead, Josh Bell of Jacksonville, Fla., Cheyenne Crawford and Keylon Crawford, both of Kerrville, Colin Crawford, Kylie Crawford and Cadan Crawford, all of Lubbock; and one great-great-grandson, Corwin LaMonte of Hempstead. Pallbearers will be Bruce Bell, Josh Bell, Lance Crawford, Dr. Kevin Crawford, Kyle Crawford and George W. Ellis.
