Nell C. Clayton 

1927-2000 

Services are pending for Nell C. Clayton, 72, of Snyder at Wright Colonial Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Clayton died Tuesday, Aug. 15, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock following a brief illness. 

The Rev. Miller Robinson, interim pastor at First Baptist Church, and Ken Andress, chaplain with Hospice of the Big Country, will officiate. 

Born on Oct. 8, 1927 in Scurry County, she married Jimmy “Hoss” Clayton on Aug. 11, 1945 in Yoakum County. Mrs. Clayton was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Caring Friends Sunday School Class. Mrs. Clayton was a retired custodian of First Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. 

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy “Hoss” Clayton of Snyder; two sons, James Clayton of Kermit and Danny Clayton of Dallas; a brother, Don Howard Lee of Wister, Okla.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
