Gladys Bennett 

1921-2000 

Gladys Marie Bennett, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 24, in Snyder Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness. 

Funeral service for Mrs. Bennett is set for 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rocky Alexander, pastor of the Ira Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Snyder Cemetery. 

Born June 19, 1921 in Poolville, Tex., she married Thomas Lewis Bennett on Dec. 28, 1943 in Snyder. 

Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and a Baptist. 

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one granddaughter. 

Survivors include three daughters, Dorma Elam of Ira, Tommie Rightmire of Cameron and Joyce Ortega of Canadian; three sons, Frank Bennett of Snyder, Billy Bennett of Ira and Larry Bennett of Pampa; two sisters, Myrtle Anderson of Sweetwater and Ann Rounsaville of Golden, Okla.; two brothers, Joe Leatherwood and Woodard Leatherwood, both of Snyder; a sister-in-law, Mary Leatherwood of Snyder; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
