Anton Hilbig (Hilbich) & Carolina Herford Family Historyby Leland & Elaine Beck Chambliss This book was a joint effort of ourselves and several of the Hilbig families to put together and preserve as much history as possible of the Hilbig family and their descendents for future generations. Many of the articles came from members of the individual Hilbig families, including personal information, baptismal records, marriage licenses, and military records.
It consists of sixty nine (69) pictures of the family, which includes Anton Hilbig and his wife Carolina Herford, family pictures of each of his daughters, Caroline Rathman, Pauline Beck, Mary Beck, and Selma Boer, pictures of his sons, Wilhelm, Joseph, and Charlie. There are pictures of all of Wilhelm Hilbig�s children and all of Joseph Hilbig�s children except Anton. There are a few pictures of the later generations. Most of these pictures were generously supplied by Marian Hilbig Nelson, Mary Ann Hilbig Lavin, Erlene Hilbig Goertz, and JoAnn Beck Hilbig. For additional pictures of the Pauline Hilbig Beck family refer to the Robert Beck Ancestry book in the Rockne Historical Association Museum. The genealogy records were taken from the Rockne Book and placed into a genealogy program called Family Origins. We then updated many of the families as to births, deaths, place of burial, marriages, and other pertinent information as we could obtain. The program started with Anton Hilbig and includes the lineage of all of his children down to the present generation. It includes the family genealogy of Caroline Hilbig Rathman, Wilhelm Hilbig, Pauline Hilbig Beck, Mary Hilbig Beck, Selma Hilbig Boer, and Joseph Hilbig. |
