"The laying off of the townsite above Church siding was commenced in November or December, 1906, and was completed about the first of the year...townsite consisted originally of thirty-two blocks and a public square and thirty-nine acreage out-lots.  A few years later several additions were made to the townsite, which was generally referred to as Church until towards the end of 1907, when it was named Woodsboro in honor of Captain Tobias D. Wood, former owner of the Bonnie View Ranch."

"...the hotel was completed in April, 1907, and its first manager, G.W. Ashby, opened it no only as a hotel but as a post office and commissary.  Dr. Howe was the infant town's first postmaster.  In 1908 Ashby sold out his interest in the company and Louis Schiah [sic] took over the management of the hotel.  Later it was bought by S. L. Du Boise [sic] [Dubois] and operated for years the Du Boise Hotel.  The first residence was built by Emory Moore."
