- Search millions of indexed records, death certificate scans, social security.  You can download scans of the actual death certificates.

Genealogy Encyclopedia - This site has helpful abreviations used in records, illnesses, occupations, genealogy terms,
and best of all, what the census details are on each census.  Also includes link to Free Forms you can print.

Genealogical CD's Look Ups - Lists of CD's that folks will do look ups on......lots of good titles here. 

RAOGK - Otherwise know as Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness.  Another great Volunteer Site.

American Memory - Click on search and enter a name or county.  Rains County has two
 articles -- one on J G Mooring and one on James G Woorling.

WW II Military site - You can search the registry for family and friends or by city, county
and state and you can add to the registry (no cost).

Biographical Souvenir ---contains biographical sketches of many early texas settlers.

Mormon Church Records - this site is NOT just about Mormons.

1880 US Census ----- this is the entire census, done by the LDS Church (Mormon), and it's free!!! (Allows you to search for any person using birthdate and location criteria. Can help you locate people "hidden" in homes with someone else as head of household.)

Census Information - This site tells you what you can expect to find as headings on census records.
Click on Census at the top of the page.

USGenWeb Search Engine - put in your surname and pick a state.

Perpetual Calendar - put in the year or an exact date and hit enter. Great for determining actual birthdates.
