Emory - Services for Willie "Sam" Woosley, 82, of Emory, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Grove Baptist Church with Rev. D.K. Young and Rev. Richard Rollerson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Mr. Woosley died Sunday in San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown.
He was born Jan 31, 1910 in Rains County, the son of Harry and Lucy Murray Woosley. He married Arversia Sims Sept. 15, 1935 in Rains County. He was a retired butcher with B&B Grocery in Emory, and worked after his retirement with the STEP program. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 185 and was the oldest deacon in Prairie Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Emory; one daughter, Bettye Woosley of Crosby; and one granddaughter, Iakia Woosley of Crosby. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Robinson.
Visitation will be today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wilson-Orwasky Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willie Woosley Fund at the First National Bank of Emory.

Services for Ozell Robinson
Ozell Robinson, 67, of the Sand Flat Community, died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday in Baylor Hospital of Dallas. Pallbearers were Highway Department employees: Dale Abercrombie, Bobby Kile, Leo Jennings, Calvin Byrum, Fred Hunter, and Don McLeroy.
The retired employee of the Texas Highway Department was born November 20, 1910 at Emory, son of Henry and Lucy Bridges Robinson.
Final rites were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Grove Baptist Church,
where he held membership, with the Rev. Cleveland officiating. Interment
was in Prairie Grove Cemetery with employees of the Texas Highway Department
serving as pallbearers. Tapp Funeral Home had charge of arrangements
Survivors include his wife, Annie; two daughters, Mrs. Clarell Ross of
Gainesville and Mrs. Delma Ray of Dallas; three brothers, Lonnie Robinson of
Emory, Lorenzo Robinson of Dallas, and Choycie Robinson of Vernice, Cal.;
five sisters, Mrs. Elma Hobbs, Mrs. Glether Davis, and Mrs. Modis McMillan,
all of Emory; Mrs. Virgie Porter of Greenville and Mrs. Loda Kendricks of
Los Angeles, Cal.; and five grandchildren

Walter Jackson Buried Sunday at Prairie Grove
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Prairie Grove Baptist Church of the Sand Flat community for Walter Jackson, the Rev. C. Alexander, pastor, officiated.
He died in Fort Worth, where he had lived for the past few years. He was employed for many years as a porter for the First Methodist Church of Fort Worth. He was the son of Bill and Sarah Jackson. He is survived by seven children, five sons and two daughters; one sister and two brothers, Willie and Henry Jackson of Emory.

Mrs. Ann Robinson, Supervisor of the Sand Flat Center, died Monday in a
Denton hospital after a short illness. Funeral services are pending with
Wilson-Harris Funeral Home of Emory.

Services for Mrs. Annie Lee Robinson
Services for Annie Lee Robinson, 71, were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Prairie Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Cleveland Alexander officiating. Mrs. Robinson was born February 22, 1912 in Rains County to Harry and Lucy Woosley. She died Monday in a Denton hospital following a short illness. She was married to Ozell Robinson, who preceded her in death. She was the Meal Supervisor for the NETO Sand Flat Senior Citizen Center. She was Baptist and a member of the Order of the Easter Star and the Heroines of Jericho.
Survivors include a daughter, Clarell Ross of Emory, a brother Willie Woosley of Emory, seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Cleveland Williams, Jr., Troy McMillan, Lee Hobbs, Herman Robinson, Elvin Hobbs and Herbert Robinson, Jr. Burial was in the Prairie Grove Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Harris Funeral Home of Emory.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Murray Woosley, 98, of Rt. 1 Emory, will be held at the Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Emory on June 23, 1982 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. J.M. Sims and Cleveland Alexander will conduct the service. Mrs. Woosley, a native of the Sand Flat Community, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Will Murray and had celebrated her 98th birthday in February. She had many friends and was highly respected in the area. Mrs. Woosley had been a member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church since an early age.
She was married to Harry L. Woosley, who preceded her in death several years ago. Two children were born to this union: Willie Woosley and Annie L. Robinson, both of Emory. Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Rebecca Woosley of Mineral Wells, two granddaughters, Bettie J. Woosley of Houston and Clarell Ross of Gainesville; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be James Woosley, Lee Hobbs, R.V. Clayton, Homer F. Murray, Troy McMillan, and Cleveland Williams, Jr. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, Emory, under the direction of Wilson-Harris Funeral Home

Nina Robinson
1919 - 2003
Nina Robinson, 84, of Emory died Tuesday, Dec. 16, in Dallas. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Emory with Rev. R. Rollerson and Rev. W.R. Byrd officiating.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Emory on November 24, 1919, to Gains and Tishie Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Prairie Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors are sons, Lyndon Robinson and Douglas Robinson, both of Dallas, and Wendell Robinson of Emory; daughters, Evelyn Corsey (Robert) and Jennie Calloway, both of Dallas; brother, Wallace Johnson of Dallas; sister, Jennie Pruitt of Crockett; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, child, five brothers and one grandchild.
Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

King Brackeen
1918 - 2004
King Barker Brackeen, 85, of Fort Worth died the evening of April 11. Funeral services were at Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Emory at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, with Rev. Beverly Montgomery officiating. Burial was at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Emory. Mr. Brackeen was the son of George and Ellen Wilson Brackeen. He was born June 14, 1918, in Wolfe City. Mr. Brackeen served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Survivors include two sons, George Brackeen of Fort Worth and Joe Brackeen of Washington, D.C.; one daughter, Avis Brackeen-Qualls of Arlington; and three grandchildren. Cozine and Tarver Funeral Home of Greenville was in charge of arrangements.
