The White Family Settled In County Back In 1887

Lola Howard White was born in Mineral Wells in 1887, the daughter of pioneer parents who settled in south Mineral Wells.  She passed away in 1950.  She often spoke of the "horse and buggy" days and of fording in the Brazos River before the bridge was built.

She was a Methodist and a leader in club work in the Sturdivant community.  A son, Fred Howard White, is school tax collector for Mineral Wells and another son, Langdon, lives in Odessa.  There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
