J. A. Goodbar From
Illinois Back In 1884 |

Mr. and Mrs. James A. Goodbar came from Illinois to
Mineral Wells in 1884 for their health and finding it, remained
here. They took mineral baths in a tent, with G. P. Barber, father
of George D. Barber, owning the place. They bought a place 3 miles
west of Mineral Wells and lived there, with their two sons, Fayette, who
was born here and J. W. Goodbar. Mrs. Goodbar died in 1895. |
