A note from H. H. Porter, now 92 years of age and living in Ft. Worth, says his family came to Palo Pinto County in 1851 and settled on Porter Prairie in southeast part of the county.  He says he has been reading the Palo Pinto Star for 67 years and hopes to see his friends at the Old Settler's Reunion this year.
