One of Palo Pinto's pioneer homes still stands and is that of Mrs. Lena Grimes.  Standing on the porch are her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Greer, Mrs. Grimes, Mrs. Ester Palmer, Wade Palmer in her arms, David Greer, Jeanetta and Lloyd Grimes.  Mr. Greer, for many years was the mail carrier for Palo Pinto, traveling by hack from Mineral Wells to Palo Pinto and on to Santo, making the trip each day.  The little boy at the left corner of the picture is not identified.
