C. W. B. Grantham, a native of Montgomery County, Mississippi, where he was born in 1854, came to Texas in 1874 and married Ella King in Palo Pinto County in 1887.  They joined the Salesville Baptist Church and always assisted in the work of their church and community.  Mr. Grantham was a farmer and he died in 1932, and was buried in the Grantham cemetery.  Mrs. Grantham is now living with her daughter in Loving Valley.  A part of the home the couple built on arriving here is still standing.

Four daughters of the couple live in Palo Pinto County.  They are Mrs. A. M. Saul, Mrs. D. F. Alcorn and Mrs. T. M. Hearn all of Mineral Wells and Mrs. Veda Johnson of Graford.
