B. J. And Katherine Calhoun Settled in Lone Camp Community



B. J. and Katherine Calhoun of Clark County, Alabama, came to Palo Pinto County in 1878 when their son, Charlie, was one year old, and settled in the Lone Camp community.  Mr. Calhoun was a farmer and rancher.

Charlie B. Calhoun and Elizabeth Stevens, daughter of Jim and Genevive Stevens, were married at the Smith farm, known as the Long Ranch, in 1901.  They are members of the Ward Mountain Methodist Church.  They have four children, Mrs. Bill Walls, Lone Camp, Mrs. Marcus Marsden of Mineral Wells, Mrs. Winifred Roberson of Gordon and Oscar Calhoun of Azle and 8 grandchildren.
