Albert Crawford, a native of Breathwitt County, Kentucky, and his wife, Amelis Brawner Crawford, also of Kentucky, came to Palo Pinto County in 1855.  Mr. Crawford was born in 1826 and married in 1851.  The couple had one child, Breckenridge, who was born before they came to this county.

The next child, Joseph Lane Crawford, was born here in 1860 and he married Ollie Coarse; Catherine, married Mack Geddis; Brawner Baylor, married an Edwards; Richard Coke married Mece Couger; Archie never married; Millstredt (Millie) married Webb McAdams; Harry never married; Albert Raines, who was born in 1875, married December 1906, Violet Wilson, whose family came from Kentucky to Parker County in 1887 and to Palo Pinto County the next year.  The Albert Raines Crawfords had five children, none of whom live in this county.
