Helyn Beene Rinks Memorial services for Helyn Rinks, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Satur-day, May 3, 2008 at the Cheatham Memorial United Meth-odist Church in Edgewood with Rev. Jesse Bran-nen officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to services in thefellowship hall. Mrs. Rinks died on Saturday, April 26, 2008. She was born May 27, 1924 in Roby to the late Sam Beene and Lillie Mae Robertson Beene. Helyn retired as deputy tax assessor for Van Zandt County. She was an active member of Cheatham Memorial Methodist Church, and volunteered at Edgewood Elementary School as well as Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and one sister. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Charles Wise of Rising Fawn, Ga. and Sheri and Bobby Hurdle of Canton; a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Gretchen Steele of Sylmar, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Susan Wise, Wade Wise, Wesley Steele, John Mark Steele, Paige Steele, Brandon Hurdle and Keri Hurdle; and one great-granddaughter, Emilee Steele. She is also survived by three sisters, Nell Humphries, Dene Sansing and husband Richard, and Lou Kerby and husband Ray; two sisters-in-law, Annabelle Chapman and Betty Beene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
