Carolyn Sue Boyd Lingafelter Carolyn Sue Boyd Lingafelter, 65, of Hedgesville died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in her home. Born Feb. 22, 1943, in Boomer, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy Boyd and Pauline Mearl Stewart Boyd. Sue, as she was called by close friends and family, was well known and loved in her community. She was a lifelong animal rescuer and probably saved hundreds of pets through her efforts. She was very talented, teaching many crafts classes throughout her life. Her specialities included wreath making early on, one large one going into the Ohio governor’s mansion in the 1970s, and more recently, she learned and taught advanced rubber stamping and papermaking. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Allen Lingafelter of Sweetwater, and Steven Wayne Lingafelter of North Potomac, Md.; one granddaughter; two brothers, Pat Boyd of Charleston, W.Va., and Richard Boyd of Ravenswood, W.Va.; and one sister, Rhonda Tasker of Mt. Nebo, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kenneth Lingafelter, in 2000, and four brothers. Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Hedges Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Spies-Scott officiating. Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home of Martinsburg, W.Va.
