Lois Maxine "Dobbin" Auchterlonie, 95. Lois was born April 14, 1917, on a farm, east of Viola, Kan. to parents Thomas M and Alma R. Dobbin; she passed away peacefully on March 24, 2013, following a fall at her home in Snohomish Wash. Lois graduated from East High in Wichita, Kan. and later attended Wichita State University, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree; she was also President of the Delta-Omega Sorority in her senior year. She was a Service Pilot in the Women's Air Force, stationed at Sweetwater, Texas as part of the W.A.S.P. squadron. Lois was the recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal for her service to our country during World War II. She was also a lifelong member of the 99's, a W.A.S.P. Organization. Being a member of the W.A.S.P. was the most memorable and dearest part of Aunt Lois' life. On July 27, 1961, she married Charles "Carl" Auchterlonie in Wichita, Kan., they were married for 32 years. Lois' main career was as a technical writer for 32 years at Raytheon in Massachusetts. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother. She is survived by brother-in-law, Kenneth Auchterlonie and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., April 20, 2013, at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, Wash.
