Services for Ollie Nadin Johnston, 85, of Trinidad were held at 10;00 a.m., Wednesday, at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malakoff with Floyd Loven officiating. Burial was in the Trinidad
Mrs. Johnston passed away Monday in Athens. She was born December 12, 1919 in Kerens to Lon Thomas and Margaret Ollie Scarbrough and has been a lifelong resident of the community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trinidad. She married Loyd James Johnston on April 29, 1938 in
Mankin, Tx. Upon his death in 2000, they had been married for 62 years.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Kay Abee of Dallas, her son, Ronald Johnston of Trinidad, seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frost Resident Dies Thursday
Mrs. Sallie McClure, long-time resident of Frost, died in Memorial hospital
Thursday morning after a short illness. She was 72.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Frost Baptist Church,
with Rev. Earl G. Harper, pastor of the Frost Methodist Church, officiating.
He will be assisted by Rev. C. C. Ellis, pastor of the First Baptist Church;
and Rev. Larry Meredith, pastor of the Clearview Methodist Church in Dallas.
Burial will be in Frost cemetery with McCormick Funeral Service in charge.
Mrs. McClure, who suffered a stroke Wednesday, was a native of Mississippi
and moved to Texas when she was two years old.
She is survived by nine children, Robert L. McClure, Robstown; F. L.
McClure, Texas City; Dean McClure, Dallas; Mrs. Edna Dickson, Frost; Mrs.

MRS. EUNICE M’ALESTER DIED IN HOSPITAL HERE SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Mrs. Eunice McAlester, aged 32 years, wife of E. M. McAlester, 620 West
Ninth avenue, died in the Navarro County Hospital Sunday afternoon at 2:20
o’clock and the remains were interred in the Kerens Cemetery at 2:30 Monday
afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. J. Howard Williams, pastor of the
First Baptist church of Corsicana. Mrs. McAlester was a native of Navarro
county. She underwent an operation in the Navarro County Hospital Saturday
Surviving are her husband, one son, Cecil Tramel; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Kyser, Kerens; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Lockridge, Mexia; Mrs. Alvie Allen,
Nacona; Mrs. Vesper Walker, Kerens; one brother, Chester Kyser, Kerens.
Several truck loads of floral offerings were sent to Kerens with the body,
they attesting the popularity of Mrs. McAlester in life and the love and
esteem in which she was held by those who knew her best.

Graveside services for Leander C. McAlister, 95, a Dallas resident for about
fifty years, will be held Monday afternoon in Corsicana.
McAlister, a retired contractor in Dallas, died in a Dallas hospital
Saturday. He was born in Alabama and came to Texas as a youth.
Surviving are a son, J. W. McAlister and a daughter, Mrs. June Staugh, both
of Dallas; a brother, A. McAlister of Big Spring; a granddaughter, Mrs. Doris Paschell of Dallas; three other grandchildren and two

Funeral services for Leander C. McAlister, 95, who died in Dallas
Saturday were held at Oakwood cemetery here Monday afternoon where
interment was made. He formerly resided in Corsicana. Services also were
held in Dallas Monday morning.
The rites were conducted by Dr. Erwin F. Bohmfalk, pastor of the First

FROST. Feb. 22—(Spl.)—Funeral services for R. D. McCary, 80, who
died with a heart attack Wednesday, were held from the First

McCary, native Texan and long time resident of this community died
while mowing a lawn Wednesday afternoon. He was a long-time butcher
and was prominent in fraternal circles. He was tiler of the Frost
Masonic Lodge 19 years and served as clerk of the WOW Lodge here for

Sam H. Inman Dies in Auto

CORSICANA, Texas, May 3. - Sam H. Inman, 62, 810 South Eighteenth street,
native of Georgia but resident of Corsicana for thirty-eight years, died with a heart attack while driving his car near Calvert Thursday afternoon at
about 4:30 o'clock, and the funeral will be held from the residence Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with interment in
Mr. Inman was drilling an oil well in the Brenham field and was en route to
his rig at the time of the attack. The car ran into a ditch and turned over. Apparently Mr. Inman had not been injured from the way the car was found,
but was dead before the car went into the ditch.
He was well-known in Corsicana and had been fire chief, assistant fire chief
and City Commissioner of Corsicana. He formerly was in the gun business.
Surviving are his wife, seven children, Mrs. L. K. Carraway, Mrs. A. C.
Young, Mrs. Norman Hardin, Hall Preston Inman, Sammie Lean Inman, Billie Bob Inman and Nellie Frances Inman, all of Corsicana; two brothers, S. M. Inman

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR SAM H. INMAN SATURDAY MORNING
WELL KNOWN CORSICANAN DIED ON HIGHWAY NEAR CALVERT THURSDAY
Funeral services for Sam H. Inman, 62, native of Georgia, but resident of
Corsicana 38 years, who died Thursday afternoon near Calvert with a heart
attack while driving his car, were held from the family residence, 810 South
Eighteenth street, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, with burial in Oakwood
cemetery. An inquest held by officers at Calvert shortly after the body of
Mr. Inman was found in his overturned automobile, reported that death was
caused by a heart attack and that the death of Mr. Inman caused the car to
run into a ditch and overturn.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. David Shepperson, pastor of the
First Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was a member, assisted by
Rev. George F. Kornegay, pastor of the Eleventh Methodist church; Rev. A. E.
Carraway, pastor of the North Corsicana Methodist church; Rev. F. O. Waddill,
pastor of the Dawson Methodist church, formerly of Corsicana; and Rev. D. A.
Chisholm, pastor of the First Methodist church of Hubbard, formerly of
Corsicana. The Masonic order had charge of the services at the grave.
Mr. Inman was well-known in Corsicana, having been fire chief, assistant
fire chief and city commissioner. He formerly was in the gin business. At
the time of his death, he was drilling oil wells in the Brenham oil fields
and was en route to Brenham at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, seven children, Mrs. A. C. Young, Marshall; Mrs. L.
K. Carraway, Mrs. Norman Hardin, and Hal Preston, Sammie Lean, Billie Bob
and Nellie Frances Inman, all of Corsicana; two brothers, S. M. and W. C.
Inman, both of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. George Rogers, Fayetteville,
Ark.; Mrs. Frank Carl, Prairie Grove, Ark.; and Mrs. Sallie Jones,
Birmingham, Ala., and other relatives.
Pallbearers were the five brothers of Mrs. Inman, Fred White, J. Ed White,
George T. White, Willison White, and Frank M. White and Sam J. Taylor.

Edgar L. Gibson, 70 years of age, a resident of Corsicana for 40 years, died at his home here early this morning. Up to two years ago Mr. Gibson was
freight agent for the Houston and Texas Central railroad here, a position which he held for 25 years. He was never married, and devoted his life to
his mother and two sisters. The funeral services will be conducted from the Catholic Church tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Father McAuliffe
officiating. One sister and a brother survive him, his mother and one sister having died within the past few years. The general superintendent's office
at Houston has wired E. O. Vaughan, the present H. & T. C. freight agent here, to close his office during the funeral hour tomorrow.

Blooming Grove Man Found Dead on Railway

CORSICANA, Texas, Aug. 4. - The mangled, lifeless body of Raymond C. Barham,
33, of Blooming Grove was found Friday on the Southern Pacific Lines right of way, and Everett Monk Griffin, 27, also of Blooming Grove, was found
seriously injured near by. A fast freight train had passed through Corsicana a few minutes earlier.
Reed Talley, night attendant at a filling station, found the men after he had heard shouts for help. Griffin was taken to P. and S. Hospital.
Barham's body was taken Friday to Blooming Grove.
The injured man suffered a broken left arm between the elbow and wrist, and hospital attendants said they believe he will recover.
Barham is survived by his wife and five small sons of Blooming Grove; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Barham; three brothers, Joe and Nick Barham of
Blooming Grove, and Bill Barham of Floydada, and a sister, Mrs. H. P. Barnes of San Angelo.

at the Navarro County hospital Monday night at 7:10 o'clock following an illness of several days, were held at the First Baptist Church at Arlington
on Wednesday morning. He was born in Alabama but had resided in Texas forty-two years.

Funeral services for Pfc. Phillip P. Barham, 19, U. S. Marine, will be held
at 2 p.m. Sunday from the First Christian church in Blooming Grove.
The rites will be conducted by Rev. Jack Garrett. Burial will be in
Hill cemetery. Graveside rites and pallbearers will be provided by the Texas
National Guard and American Legion.
Pfc. Barham was killed in action in Korea, October 10, 1951.

Mrs. Boyd was born July 2, 1924 in Corsicana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Shaw, and son, James Monte Shaw.
She is survived by her son, Mark Shaw and wife Sande; grandson, Christopher Shaw and wife April; granddaughter, Wendi Ellis and husband Stephen; sister,

Henry Carroll, age 81, of Corsicana passed away Monday, June 6, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dallas.|
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Corley Funeral Chapel with
Dr. David Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Dresden Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Carroll, James Stringer, Don Bush, James Owen, David Carroll and Billy Owen.
Mr. Carroll was born March 11, 1924, in Barry to Thomas “Red” Carroll and Willie Lee Carroll Eldred. He was a graduate of Blooming Grove High School
and was drafted on Feb. 25, 1943, and discharged on Jan. 31, 1945. He was a disabled World War II veteran. He was living at the home and cared for by his mother since his discharge from the service in 1945 until her death in 1980. Franklin and Mildred
Carroll cared for him with the help of James and Maxine Stringer, after his mother’s death.
The family thanks them for all their loving care they gave him, living with him in his home for the past 18 years. He loved the Lord and went to church
when he was able. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
He received numerous decorations and citations including four battle stars, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, ETO Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal for services in the Rome-Arno, Southern France, German and Italian campaigns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald D. Carroll; nephew, Tommy Joe Carroll; and brother-in-law, Vidal Vall Woods.
Survivors are brothers, Joe Thomas Carroll and wife Hazel of Garland and Franklin D. Carroll and wife Mildred of Corsicana; sister, Peggy Marie Woods
of Burkburnett; nephews, Bobby Joe Woods and wife Gloria of Fresno, Calif., Jimmy Carroll and wife Cola of Wylie and David F. Carroll and wife Karyn of The Woodlands; nieces, Mary Kay Hodges of Garland, Rhonda Marie Wrye of Rowlett and Sharon Ann Bush and husband Don of Corsicana.

Hospital in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Irene Gardner.
Survivors include wife Brenda Nickleberry Gardner; daughter Brendé and son
