Born, January 30, 1904 in Frost, Texas to her Parents: George W. & Ellen L. Musslewhite.  She passed away May 9, 2002 in Ft. Worth, Texas.  She and her husband retired to Dallas, Texas in 1960.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Buren B. Brown and 11 brothers & sisters.  She worked in the accounting department of the Texas National Bank in Houston, Texas over 35 years.  She is survived by several nieces & nephews and numerous grand & great grand nephews & nieces.  Graveside Services will be Friday, May 10, 2002 at 2:00 PM on Friday May 10, 2002 at the Chapel Garden Mausoleum at Restland Memorial Park.  -  Restland Funeral Home.

Ernest Pierce French, Jr.

Ernest Pierce French, 79, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 in Corsicana. 

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Honea officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park

Pallbearers will be Greg Carver, Randy Carver, Rick Carver, Scott Haynie, Steve Hanie, Larry Honea and Jimmy Taylor. 

Mr. French was born Feb. 20, 1920 in Navarro County. He was a machinist. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. French served in the U.S. Army in the 36th division during World War II. He received the Silver Star and two Purple Hearts during his WWII service. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine French. 

Mr. French is survived by special friend, Edna McCain of Corsicana; sister, Ernetine Stafford of Desoto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucille Albritton, 93, of Kerens passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at East Texas Medical Center in Athens.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Paschal Funeral Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bazette Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating. Interment will follow at Bazette Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

She was born Sept. 16, 1908 in Bazette.

Survivors include her son, Joe Albritton of Kerens; granddaughters, Kathy Albritton and Jeri Albritton, both of Kerens, and Corneila Albritton of Athens; grandsons, Jody Albritton of Athens, Douglas Albritton Jr. of Corsicana and Cody Albritton of Kerens; sister, Juanita Bailey of Dallas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Hall Wallace, 79, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie George Davis, Robert E. Randle, Freddie Watson and Roy Newton.

Mrs. Wallace was born Feb. 11, 1923 in Groesbeck. She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church where she served as an usher and a deaconess. She worked in private nursing health care.

Survivors include her husband, George L. Wallace of Corsicana; daughter, Bettye Raven Pruitt of Compton, Calif.; sons, LeRoy Wilson and wife Virginia of Corsicana and Charlie Bryant; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Willie George Davis of Mexia.

James "Wild Child" Harris Jr., 63, of Corsicana passed away Monday, May 13, 2002 at his residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Church of Christ with Brother W.W. Wilmore officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Corsicana.

Willis Lucille Aaron Services for Willis Lucille Aaron, 82, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Foster and Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at the Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Aaron died Friday morning at the Park Highland Nursing Home. She was born Oct 5, 1915, in Navarro County, the daughter of Emmett Clyde Boone. Mrs. Aaron is survived by five daughters and two sons-in-law, Myrtle McNew of Athens, Mary Jo and John Tanner of Athens, Ruth Faulkinbury of Ardmore, Okla., Jackie Clement of Graham and Mary Ann and Larry Thomas of Athens; two brothers Elvis Boone of Murchison and Emmett Boone of Dallas; and one sister Agnes Grace of Ben Wheeler. FINAL RITES FOR E. C. BOONE HELD SATURDAY AT 2. Funeral services for Emmett C. Boone, 71, who died Friday in the P. and S. Hospital at Corsicana, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Corley Chapel in Corsicana. Internet was in the Mankin Cemetery near Trinidad. Survivors include his widow, of Corsicana; four sons, J. M. Boone, Kaufman, Clyde Boone, Refugio, Elvis and Emmett Boone, both of Dallas; five daughters, Mrs. Laura Crossley, Elmhouse, Mrs. R. L. Green, Kerens, Mrs. D. F. Robinson, and Miss Agnus Boone, both of Corsicana, Mrs. Oscar Aaron, Athens; three step-sons, D. F. Lewis, Mesquite, W. F. Loyd Maurice Boone

Loyd Marurice Boone, 70, of Maypearl, and better known to his many friends as Bird Dog, passed away Saturday morning at Baylor Medical Center of Ellis County in Waxahachie. Services are today at 2 p.m. in the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel with Ronniine Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Maypearl Cemetery. He was born in Cryer Creek, Texas, June 4, 1926, to Pierce and Cassie Boone. Shortly after finishing his education, he was inducted into the USA Army where he served his country in World War II. After returning from his tour of duty in the army, he married Wilna Wiggins on Dec 10, 1949. Mr. Boone was employed for 31 years with the Larkin Company. After retiring, he became involved in farming and ranching. He was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Mr. Boone is survived by his wife Wilna of Maypearl; a son and daughter in law, Roy and Kathy Boone of Maypearl; a daughter and son in law, Diane and Jimmy White of Maypearl; a sister, Ruth McNeely of Waxahachie; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ruth McNeely services today Ruth McNeely, 93, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 19, 1997, apparently of a heart attack. She was born on Jan 14, 1914, in Navarro County and had lived in Ellis County all her life. Her parents were Pierce and Cassie Boone.

Ruth was a beautiful, loving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church in Waxahachie. For many years she was the owner and operator of the Dawson dry cleaning establishment. She was an avid bowler, and has been a member of a bowling league for 40 years. 

Survivors are daughters, Ruth Ann Travers of Wills Point, Sue Wiser of Waxahachie, Callie Morang and husband Roy, Debbie Hyles and husband Joe of Grand Prairie, and Cindy Schulz and husband Johnny of Waxahachie; and sisters in law, Wilna Boone of Maypearl, Gladys Dawson and Laura Mae McNeely. She was preceded in death by both parents, Pierce and Cassie Boone, first husband Bill Dawson, second husband Joe McNeely, and a brother Maurice (Bird Dog) Boone, on Dec 21, 1996. 

Funeral services will be Monday, April 21, 1997, at 2 p.m. in the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Ronnie Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Waxahachie City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roy Boone, Jimmy White, Johnny White, James White, James Eubanks and Calvin Travers. The family received family and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Dale Edward Weaver, 84, of Arlington passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002 in a Fort Worth care center.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington with the Rev. Jerry Mayfield and the Rev. Joe Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Rice Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ken Ruthart, Dick Ruthart, Stephen Schultz, Scott Bowden, Eldon Hicks and Alton Daniels.

Mr. Weaver was born Dec. 19, 1917 near Rule in Haskell County. He served in the Army Air Force from 1940 to 1945 in Newfoundland, England and Germany. He worked for Chance-Vaught in Grand Prairie and the Federal Aviation Administration from 1960 to 1982 in El Paso, Oklahoma City, Austin and Fort Worth. After retiring, Mr. Weaver operated his own home repair business.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Frances Bowden Weaver of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Debi of Arlington; daughter, Elayne Ruthart of Arlington; grandchildren, Stephen Schultz of Mineola, Lindsey Ruthart of Arlington and Courtney Weaver of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Ann Weaver of Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nadine Weaver of Olton; sister-in-law, Charlene Bowden of Monahans; brother-in-law and wife, Jack and Mary Helen Bowden of Grand Junction, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.

Oliver C. Ponder, 63, of Kerens passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Wake services will be 7 p.m. today at Ross and Johnson Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Kerens with the Rev. Samuel Washington Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Samaria Cemetery in Kerens.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Mr. Ponder was born June 23, 1938 in Kerens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Orville C. Ponder; brothers, Dock Ponder and Dudley Ponder; and sister, Corene Onder Shamlin.

Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Elmer Purifoy
Aug. 27, 1914 - May 8, 2002

ADERHOLD - Elmer A. Purifoy, 87, of West passed away early Wednesday morning, May 8, 2002, at Providence health Center in Waco.  Services will be at 10. a.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Crowder officiating.  Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood City Cemetery in Corsicana with the Rev. Terry McElrath officiating.  The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Purifoy was born on Aug. 27, 1914, in Corsicana, the son of Elmer S. and Clemmie Purifoy.  He married Ruby Mae Starnes on Dec. 25, 1934, in Corsicana.  She preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 1970.  He then married Ethel Stanley Denison on Feb. 12, 1972, in West.  She also preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2000.  He worked for Texas Power and light Co. for 40 years before retiring in 1977.  Elmer then operated Purifoy Enterprises & Electric Service and the What's It Shop in West.  He also was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in West.  He was also a member of the West Kiwanis Club, where he served as past president and past Lt. Governor, and a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.  Elmer enjoyede traveling and was a wonderful father and grandfather.  He also was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Leo Purifoy, who died on March 28, 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeraldine Fellbaum and her husband Ralph of Waco; two step-daughters, Susan Cassidyof Waco and Vinetta Power of Hewitt; six grandchildren, Traci Nichols, Jimmy Fellbaum, Melanie Peevey, Meredith Jones, Kaytlyn Greene and Samantha Greene; and three great-grand-children, Cody Nichols, Heather Jones and Tyler Jones.

Charles David McAfee

COVINGTON - Charles David McAfee, 42, of Covington, founder and owner of McAfee Software Development, passes away Friday, May 10, 2002 at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne.  Burial will be at Watts Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 12 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home, Cleburne.

Mr. McAfee was born Sept  5, 1959 in Waco to the Rev. Charles Joseph and Ida Fields McAfee.  He graduated from University High School and Texas State Technical College with honors.  He took piano lessons and then taught himself to play the accordion, drums and guitar.  He played the clarinet and the tuba in high school band.  He was a Boy Scout, a true Dallas Cowboy fan and an avid fisherman who was always ready to wet a hook.  After the death of his father in 1995, he returned to Covington to run the farm.

He is survived by a son, Kevin McAfee and wife Lindee, of Waco; a grandson, Brayden Thomas McAfee of Waco; mother Ida Fields McAfee Bowman of Joshua; two sisters and Brothers-in-law, Zelma and Marty Bielat of Covington and Janet and randy Rogan of Mesquite; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Roy Edward Ragsdale Sr., 99, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Corsicana.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Byrum Funeral Home, 425 N. Dallas Ave., Lancaster. Interment will follow at the Odd Fellow section of Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.

Mr. Ragsdale was born May 4, 1903 in Barry to the late Milton and Nannie Lou [Renfrow]Ragsdale. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lancaster. He was a past noble grand of the Lancaster Odd Fellow Lodge No. 200. He served as lodge treasurer for over 30 years. He was a charter member of the Lancaster Rebekah Lodge No. 137. He owned and managed the Ragsdale Variety Store on the square in Lancaster for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice in 1983.

Survivors include his daughter, [Cleo]Elizabeth Roushey of Lancaster; son, Roy E. Ragsdale Jr. of Corsicana; sister, Jewel Watson of Barry; grandchildren, Alice Lee Green of Lancaster, Louise Roushey of Dallas, William L. Roushey of Grafford, Elaine Barnes of Lancaster, Steve Barnes of Stephenville and David Ragsdale of Corsicana; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Milburn Leroy Young Jr., 72, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Health Care and Rehab of Corsicana.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Kerens City Cemetery with the Rev. B. F. Risinger Jr. officiating.

Mr. Young was born Dec. 24, 1929 in Shreveport, La. to Milburn L. Young Sr. and Eula Richards Young. He was the manager of The Bait House until he retired. He attended First Baptist Church in Corsicana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Young of Corsicana; daughter, Donna Cole of Houston; grandson, Matt Cole of New Mexico; granddaughter, Candace Pooch and husband Mike of College Station; great-granddaughter, Ashley Pooch of College Station; great-grandson, Dylan Pooch of College Station; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Marvin Turbeville of Mesquite; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Sue Young of Mesquite, and Kenneth and Charlotte Young of Red Oak; and several aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janette McCarthy.

Opal "Memaw" Harris, 94, of Kerens passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002 at Kerens Care Center.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Paschal Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wes Johnson and Chris Kenner officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bert Kilcrease, Kenny Kilcrease, Andy Sessions, Dan Smith, Dave Commiato, Jim Wells, Don Barnes and Coit Harris.

She was born March 17, 1908 in Peacevalley, Mo. She was a weaver for many years at the Corsicana Cotton Mill. She was a sales lady for Studio Cosmetics and a nurses aid at Pauline's Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, E.Y. Hawkins, and second husband, Lawrence Harris; a grandson, Kenny Kenner; sisters, Edith Foster and Ella Smith; and brothers, Ernest, Shelby, Fred and Wayne Lynch.

Funeral Services Are Held For Mrs. Cleo Bates

Funeral services were held at Bazette Baptist Church Saturday, June 2, 1945, at 2 pm for Mrs. Cleo Bates, age 25, who died at P & S Hospital in Corsicana Thursday, May 31, 1945.  Rev. Fletcher conducted the services and burial was at the Bazette Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Bates was born June 19, 1919.  Well know here, the daughter of  Guy S. [St. Clair] and Eunice Deskin Lancaster, she was united in marriage to Richard [Hubbard] Bates on June 1, 1935.  To this union two children were born – Carrie Jane, 8 and Martha Jean, 6.  Her husband preceded her in death March 28, 1941.

Surviving her in addition to her two children and parents, are her grandparents, Andrew  and Lena Winters Deskin., a brother Glynn [Guy] Lancaster of the Navy, stationed at Pierce, FL. and other relatives and friends.

William Jasper Tramel, aged 62, passed away Monday, February 11, 1946 in Baylor Hospital, Dallas.  Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Prairie Point Church with Rev. J. E. Inlow, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Corsicana, conducting the services.

 Mr. Tramel had spent most of his  life near Kerens and was engaged in farming.

Survivors are his wife, Bedia Deskin Tramel, two sons; W. T. Tramel, Kerens; J. E. Tramel, Tom Bean; five daughters, Mrs. J. B. (Vennie) Nelson, Gladewater; Mrs. Roy (Etta) Brown, Powell; Mrs. Oral (Leolar) Warren, Mrs. Jim (Mildred) Warren and Miss Betty Tramel, Kerens; five brothers, Robert, Tom, and P.B. Tramel, Kerens; John Tramel, Corsicana and L. E. Tramel of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. L. E. (Delia) Albritton, Kerens; Mrs. Tennessee Pike, Dallas; a foster son, Foy H. Brown, Kerens; 11 grandchildren and other relatives.

Interment was made in the Prairie Point Cemetery at Bazette.

John Edward Brewer

John Edward Brewer, 75, of Corsicana, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002 in San Augustine County.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Corley Funeral Chapel with Steve Orbison and Bro. Lou Dane officiating. Interment will be at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Bass, David Brewer, John Brown, Jackie Dunlap, J.V. Lewis, Wilbur Lewis, David Reagan and Herb Roop. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.

Mr. Brewer was born March 29, 1927 in Hamilton County. His parents, Bill and Belle Brewer were farmers, and after a 18-month stay in the military during WWII, he became one too. In 1947 he married Faye Christine Golden of DeLeon. She and their son, John Weldon Brewer preceded him in death during the polio epidemic of 1948.

While married to Christine, Mr. Brewer raised peanuts in Comanche County, but after marrying Rachel Lewis of Gorman in 1950, they moved to Navarro County where he raised cotton and grain. He and Rachel had three daughters while living in Brown's Valley in Navarro County.

After the death of his father, he and his wife moved to Corsicana where he spent the next few years working for the county. He worked for 13 years for the U.S. Gypsum Co. before beginning his own backhoe business in 1971. His primary business was for Corley Funeral Home. He continued to own and operate Hilltop Backhoe Service until he retired in 1999. His other enterprises included cattle and ranching, owning and operating Hilltop Feed & Seed and Manuel's Restaurant.

Through the years, he always found a little time to go fishing and a lot of time to love his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine Brewer; son, John Weldon Brewer; parents, Bill and Belle Brewer; brother, William Brewer and great granddaughter Samantha Rasco.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rachel Brewer of Corsicana; daughters, Carolyn and Solon Bailey of Trinidad, Linda and Butch Earnest of San Augustine and Janet and Ovie Earles of Corsicana; granddaughters, Audra and Clay Trimble of San Augustine, Kathy and Chris Wood of Corsicana, Kim and Bill Tramel of Navasota, Kristy and Calvin Rasco of Blooming Grove, Laura and Brent Bennefield of San Augustine and Kahlayah Bailey of College Station; grandsons, John Edward and Christine Brewer, II of Corsicana, EOCR Matthew Earnest and Melissa Sanders (fiance) of San Augustine and Jason Brewer and Ellen Hand (fiance) of Corsicana; great grandsons, Josiah Bennefield of San Augustine, Tyler Trimble of San Augustine, Cody Bennefield of San Augustine, Zachery Brewer of Corsicana, Trevor Wood of Corsicana and Kendall Tramel of Navasota; aunt, Ila Mae Oringderff of Fort Worth; brothers-in-law, J.V. Olif Q. Boyd, 84, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2000. His wonderful wife, Timer Boyd, had preceded him in death. He was a member of the Albuquerque Country Club for 40 years and was an ardent lover of the game of golf. Georgia (Howell) Smith/Tinker

Georgia H. Smith Tinker, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away September 13, 1999. Georgia was born in Corsicana, Texas on April 23, 1913. She was raised in Kemp, Texas and graduated from Kemp High School. She then attended the Parkland School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas. In 1935, she moved back to New Mexico shortly after her marriage to Travis Smith. After living in Idaho and Texas, she moved to New Mexico in 1951. She became very involved in the League of Women Voters and served as the Albuquerque president from 1958-1960. In 1966, Georgia and Travis moved to Pecos, New Mexico and began the campground and development called Hidden Valley. They were later divorced, but Georgia continued with the campground and a subdivision development with great dedication and sacrifice. She later became a member of the Republican Inner Circle and spent many hours in our Nation's Capitol, helping format policy. She has also served on the Presidential Roundtable. Besides her family and friends, her greatest loves were fishing and painting. She studied under the renowned artist, Carl Von Hassler. Her oil paintings of Aspens and Adobes were exceptional. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and George W. Howell; first husband, Travis Smith; second husband, Nick Tinker; and sister, Vera Ingram. Georgia is survived by her son, George H. Smith of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandra Elkins and husband, Dugan of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Ann Barr of Dallas, TX; grandson, Randy Elkins and wife, Sandi of McKinney, TX; granddaughter, Celeste Ehlers and husband, Patrick of Albuquerque; grandson, Rick Elkins and wife, Dena of Colorado Springs, CO; great-granddaughter, Kalyn Elkins of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandsons, Jonathan Smith and Zackery Ehlers of Albuquerque, Ryan Altman, Justin Altman, and Christopher Altman of McKinney, TX; nephews, Orville Jobe and Bill Barr of Texas; nieces, Noel Williams and Avis Jobe of Texas; her extended families and many, many special friends. Marguerite Tipton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 1998. She passed away at her daughter's home in McKinney, TX. Born Dec. 14, 1959 in Mexia, he passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2002.

Lillian Mabelle (Pillans) Fullerton

Lillian Pillans 'baby' Fullerton, 71, of Trinidad went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 22, 2002. She passed away at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fullerton was born Nov. 27, 1930 at St. Elmo to Benjamin Darden Pillans and Oletha Melton Pillans. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law.

Mr. Gay was born Feb. 23, 1915 in Barry and was a highway department inspector.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn M. Ruby Reynolds, 92, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Killeen City Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Neal officiating.

Mrs. Reynolds was born Feb. 12, 1910 in Youngstown to Harvey Jackson and Pearl Connors Jackson. She was a bookkeeper for HEB for many years.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dayton Laurie Reynolds; and grandson, John Siewert Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Woody Reynolds of Decatur, and Don Reynolds and Charles Reynolds, both of Corsicana; daughter, Leora Siewert of Richmond, Va.; brother, Ernest Jackson of Colorado; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Boss Dee Pickett, 53, of Corsicana and Dallas, passed away Friday, May 17, 2002 at Doctors Hospital in Dallas.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Okla. with Harry Meissner officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Woodman, David Calvert, Richard Howard, Johnny Fisher, Joshua Johnson and Maurhys Johnson.

Mr. Pickett was born July 11, 1948 in Dallas to the late Vernon and Josephine McGuire Pickett. He was educated in Dallas at Bryan Adams High School and lived in Dallas most of his life. He was a cab driver for Yellow Cab and Cowboy Cab for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Chickasaw Indian Nation.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Johnson of Corsicana and Dallas; son, Richard Howard and wife Amy of Dallas; grandson, Nicholas Howard; stepchildren, Kirsten, Joshua and Maurhys Johnson, all of Dallas; cousins, Sarah and David Calvert of Garland, Geneva and Howell Calvert and Dorothy Celentano, all of Bayonet Point, Fla.; and a host of family and beloved friends.

Ronnie Haynie, 60, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, May 23, 2002 in Corsicana.

Mr. Haynie was born Aug. 6, 1941 in Corsicana. He was a business operator. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past year and enjoyed his involvement in playing and coaching softball for 30 years and was the best pa-Paw in the world.

He was preceded in death by parents Wayne and Marie Haynie and father-in-law Lawton McClain.

Mr. Haynie is survived by wife Lawdine Haynie of Corsicana; sons Steve Haynie and wife Vicki of Corsicana and Jeffery Scott Haynie of Austin; sister Sharon Thomas of Eureka; brother Larry Haynie of Fort Defiance, Ariz.; granddaughters Laura Haynie and Spencer Haynie, both of Corsicana; and mother-in-law Edna McCain of Corsicana.

SAN ANTONIO - Robert W. Hodges, 79, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2002, in San Antonio.  Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at Crestview Baptist Church.  Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park in Waco.

He was born on Aug 13, 1922, in Corsicana to Dabney W. Hodges and Maude Idella (Millerman) Hodges.  He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Billy G. Bradley, inn 1995.

He is survived by his wife Frances Hodges; daughters, Candace Bradley and Nancy Strickland; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Virnau, Kevin Bradley and Michael Strickland; and three great-grandchildren.
