DIED OF WOUNDS - Norman Godwin, 17, s-2-c, U.S. Navy, died of wounds following action in line of duty, according to a telegram received from Vice Admiral Randall Jacobs chief of U.S. Navy personnel, by his mother Mrs. Maudie White, 610 South Eighteenth and a Half street. Details were not contained in the message. A native of Blooming Grove community, Godwin had been in the service only five months. He attended Blooming Grove high school.

Reburial Rites For
Norman Godwin
Slated Sunday
BLOOMING GROVE, April 1.— (Spl.)—Funeral services for S-2 Norman Godwin, killed in action in the Pacific area in July, 1944, will be held from the Methodist church here Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. The rites will be conducted bf Rev. Roy L. Felder, pastor, assisted by Rev. C. T. Brockette.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Maudie Brown, Waco; two sisters, one brother and grandmother, Mrs. Ida Barnes, Blooming Grove.
McCormick Funeral Service will direct.
