Graveside services for Mr. Michael James �Pete� Douglas, 48, of Omaha, were July 7, 2009, at Rivers Cemetery with Elder Donnie Davis officiating.  Mr. Douglas was born June 30, 1961, in Daingerfield.  He died July 3, 2009, in Omaha.  Survivors include his father, Willie George Lafayette of Dallas; one brother, Willie Douglas of Omaha; a sister, Bobbie Ann Douglas of Omaha; and a number of other relatives.  (Location Unknown)

EVANS, JAMES CHARLES                          May 25, 1943 � February 19, 2001

Services for Mr. James Charles Evans, 57, of Omaha were Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield with Elder James H. Young officiating.  Mr. Evans was born May 25, 1943 in Morris Co.  He died Monday, February 19, 2001 at Titus Regional Medical Center.  He was a former employee of Allied Van Lines and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield.  Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law James Jr. and Tammie Evans and Keith and Tabitha Evans, all of Dallas; three daughters and one son-in-law Kathy and Charles Kelley of Daingerfield, Francise Evans and Nikki Evans of Dallas; his mother Alma Young of Omaha; three brothers and two sisters-in-law Calvin R Young of Los Angeles, Victor and Semia Young of Daingerfield and Anthony and Veronica Young of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren and host of other relatives.  Interment was at Rivers Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

 

EVERETT, CHARLES                         November 4, 1920 � December 23, 2004

Services for the Rev. Charles Everett, 84, of Omaha, were Monday, December 27, 2004, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Daingerfield, with the Rev. Bertrand Bailey officiating.  The Rev. Everett was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Morris Co.  He died Dec. 23, 2004, in a Longview hospital.  He had served as pastor at Hughes Chapel Baptist Church at Hughes Springs, and was a member of the Unity Association.  He served in the US Army during World War II.  Survivors include his wife, Bennie C Everett of Omaha; one brother, James W Everett of Dallas; two sisters, Mary L Davis of Ft. Worth and Bernice Banks of Daingerfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Burial was at Rivers Cemetery in Daingerfield.  (Location Unknown)

 

EVERETT, WINNIE JEWEL                        May 16, 1943 � May 3, 1999

Services for Mrs. Winnie Jewel Everett, 55, of Omaha were held Saturday, May 8, 1999 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield under the direction of Turney Mortuary of Mt. Pleasant.  Mrs. Everett was born May 16, 1943 in Daingerfield, the daughter of Charlie and Josie Douglas.  She died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant.  She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield and had worked as a production worker at Pilgrim�s Pride Corp. for 18 years.  She is survived by her mother, Josie M. Searcy of Daingerfield; sons Michael J Douglas and Willie D Douglas, both of Omaha; daughter Bobbie Ann Douglas of Omaha; brothers Charlie Douglas Jr., John L Douglas, both of Daingerfield, J.T. Shaw, Sammie Mike, both of Pittsburg, and James F Shaw of Dallas; sisters Charlie Mae Crowe of Lone Star, Mary L. Epps, Linda Smith, both of Daingerfield, Helen F. Flemming of Mims, Ethel F Stern, Rosemary Shaw, Jolynn Nelson, all of Dallas and Julie Searcy of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and special friend Willie George Lafayette.  She was preceded in death by her father and one son, William Charles Douglas.  Pallbearers were Tony Walker, Christopher Birmingham, Jimmy Hendrix Eldunta Johnson, Vincent Hillman and Robert Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers were James Williams, Eddie Williams, John Mason Jr. and Eddie Hendrix.  The Rev. Bertrain Bailey officiated.  Interment was at Rivers Cemetery in Daingerfield.  (Location Unknown)

 

JOHNSON, BRETT LANIER              April 1, 1983 � February 22, 2006

Services for Brett Lanier Johnson, 22, of Mt. Pleasant, were March 1, 2006, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Daingerfield, with the Rev. Bertrain Bailey officiating.  Mr. Johnson was born April 1, 1983, in Longview.  He died February 22, 2006, in Morris County, TX.  He attended Daingerfield-Lone Star High School at Daingerfield.  Survivors include his parents, Bobbie Ann Douglas of Omaha, and George E. Sr., and Mattie Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, his twin, Brent Lanier Johnson of Omaha, George Johnson Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, and Joe Morris Johnson of NM; a special friend, Erica Williams of Naples; a brother-in-law, Eldunta Johnson of Jefferson; and a number of other relatives.  Interment was in the Rivers Cemetery at Daingerfield.  (Location Unknown)

JOHNSON, TRUELLA                                  May 28, 1931 � August 18, 2009

Services for Mrs. Truella Johnson, 70, of Daingerfield, were August 22, 2009, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. C. D. Mitchell officiating.  Mrs. Johnson was born May 28, 1931.  She died August 18, 2009, in Pittsburg.  She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Daingerfield.  Survivors include her husband, Edward Johnson of Daingerfield; and five sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Doris Johnson, Lloyd ad Janet Johnson and Eddie Johnson of Daingerfield, Steve and Mattie Johnson of Omaha, and James and Ruthie Rivers of Waxahachie.  Burial was in Rivers Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

MONTGOMERY, MARY                                      July 19, 1917 � July 21, 2004

Services for Mrs. Mary Montgomery, 87, of Omaha, were Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Daingerfield Church of Christ with Dr. James Maxwell officiating.  Mrs. Montgomery was born July 19, 1917, in Morris Co. She died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in Dallas.  She was a homemaker.  Interment was at Rivers Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

 

MONTGOMERY, WARREN                            June 8, 1900 � January 17, 1996

WARREN MONTGOMERY, 95, of Omaha, died Wednesday, January 17, 1996, at a Tyler hospital.  Funeral services were Saturday, January 20, at 11 am, at the Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs, with the Rev. Douglas Howe officiating.  Burial was in Rivers Cemetery at Daingerfield.  Mr. Montgomery was born June 8, 1900 in Morris County.  He was retired from Lone Star Steel Company.  Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Montgomery of Omaha; three sons, Willie Evans, Winford Montgomery, and Bobby Montgomery, all of Dallas; four daughters, Cathern Chambers of Phoenix, AZ., Myrtle Williams and Rosie Davis of Dallas, and Anna P. Jones of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Emma Tarvin and Tulious Montgomery, both of Naples; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  (Row 1)

Graveside services for Eva Mae Rivers, 73, of Dallas, were held Feb. 1 at Whitmore Cemetery.
Miss Rivers was born April 26, 1934, in Daingerfield, and died Jan. 26 at Baylor Medical Hospital in Dallas.  (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

RIVERS, INEZ                                                  May 6, 1921 � October 11, 2008

Services for Miss Inez Rivers, 87, of Omaha, were October 18, 2008, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. C. D. Mitchell officiating.  Miss Rivers was born May 6, 1921, in Morris County to Berdis and Sallie Rivers.  She died October 11, 2008.  She was a graduate of Mt. Moriah High School and a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church until her health failed her.  She was a hard worker and a loving person.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters, Nina Mae Williams, E. Luck Woodson, Icclair Walker, Essie B Todd and Bonnie Stein Robertson.  Survivors include five sisters, Bertha L. Brown of Omaha, Hattie Mae Rockwell of Mt. Pleasant, Truella Johnson, Lorene Hayes and Clara Mae Johnson of Daingerfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.  Burial was in Rivers Cemetery in Daingerfield.  (Location Unknown)

ROBERTSON, BONNIE STEAN RIVERS  December 30, 1934 � Dec 29, 1998

Services for Bonnie Stean Rivers Robertson, 63, of Daingerfield were held Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999 at the Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ in Daingerfield, with Bro. Joe Rivers, Sr. officiating.  Interment was held in the Rivers Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  Mrs. Robertson died December 29, 1998 at her home in Daingerfield.  She was born December 30, 1034 in Morris Co.  She was a homemaker, and a Baptist.  She was preceded in death by her parents, D. C. and Sallie Rivers; three sisters, Luck, Icclair, and Essie Rivers.  She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Pauline and Randolph Bryson of Omaha, Diann Robertson of Omaha, and Shanda Ann Robertson of Omaha; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Curtis Robertson of Omaha, Marbel N Robertson of Mt. Pleasant, and Danny L and Ulanvera P Robertson of Lawton, OK; two grandsons, Daniel M Robertson, and Dewayne Robertson; seven sisters, Lorene Mayes, Nina Mae Williams, Inez Rivers, Clara Mae Johnson, Truella Johnson, Bertha Lee Brown, all of Omaha and Hattie Mae Rockwell of Mt. Pleasant; two half-sisters, Martina Hogan and Temeka Pleasant; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  (Location Unknown)

Services for Mrs. Nina Mae Williams, 85, of Omaha, were Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Rivers officiating.  Mrs. Williams was born May 8, 1919, in Morris Co.  She died Sunday, July 11, 2004, in Longview.  She had worked for Pilgrim�s Pride, was a homemaker and member of Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ.  Survivors include her husband, R. C. Williams of Omaha; two sons, Charles Williams and Shelton Williams, both of Omaha; five daughters, Wilma Lene Hooks of Daingerfield, Mary Fields of Mt. Pleasant, MaeDean Flemming, Wilma Dean Chism and Appezene Smith, all of Omaha; four sisters, Hattie Rockwell of Mt. Pleasant, Inez Rivers, Truella Johnson and Bertha Lee Brown, all of Omaha; 28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.  Interment was at Rivers Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

 

WILLIAMS, SHANEISHA                            July 26, 1979 � December 10, 2007

Services for Ms. Shaneisha Williams, 28, of Omaha, were December 15, 2007, at Sheppard Street Church of Christ with Alonzo Thurmond officiating. Ms. Williams was born July 26, 1979, in Mt. Pleasant.  She died December 10, 2007, in Longview.  She was a cook for Chuck Wagon Caf� in Omaha, and a member of Mount Mitchell Church of Christ in Daingerfield.  Survivors include two daughters, Aaliyah and Aalayasha Williams, parents, Sharon and Curtis Evans, and brother, Taderrian Williams all of Omaha; sister, Carina Jimmerson of Hughes Springs; grandparents, Wilma Hooks of Mt. Pleasant, and Pearlie and Billie Evans of Omaha; great-grandfather, R. C. Williams of Omaha; and a number of other relatives.  Burial was in Rivers Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)
