BARTON, GLEANDELL                            April 24, 1931 � November 22, 2000

Graveside services for Mr. Gleandell Barton, 69, of Hooks were Saturday, November 25, 2000 at Clark Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Mr. Barton was born April 24, 1931 in Linden.  He died Wednesday, November 22, 2000.  He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of Beverly Heights Church of Christ and a veteran of the Korean War.  Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law LaJan and Vern Head of Ozark, AL and Lynn and Billy Merrill of Maud; three sons and one daughter-in-law Randall Barton and Kent Barton of Hooks and Richard and Susan Barton of Red Water; brothers Edwards Barton of Hughes Springs and Ray Barton of Naples; sisters Bill Golden of Hughes Springs and Darnell Callaway of Glade Branch; and eight grandchildren. BASS, BETTY RUTH                                        April 15, 1929 � March 14, 2005

Services for MRS. BETTY RUTH BASS, 75, of Daingerfield, will be conducted today, Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 2 pm at South Union Missionary Baptist Church in Daingerfield with Dr. Neal Clark and Dr. Elvin Crocker officiating.  Mrs. Bass was born April 15, 1929, in Morris County.  She died Monday, March 14, 2005, in Longview.  She was a member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the children�s Sunday School superintendent, church pianist and organist.  She taught private piano lessons in her home and at Lone Star Elementary School, was a member of Lone Star Eastern Star and retired employee of SWEPCO.  Survivors include her husband, Rex Bass of Daingerfield; two daughters, Aleeda Ruth Barton and Greta Smith, both of Longview; four grandchildren; one brother, Leahmon Lee of Longview; one sister, Joyce Farris of Lone Star.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartsway Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, Texas 75604.  Interment will be at Clark Cemetery in Daingerfield. CLIMER, BOBBY DALE                           October 20, 1952 � March 29, 2005

Services for MR. BOBBY DALE CLIMER, 52, of Marietta, were Friday, April 1, 2005, at Nail-Haggard Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Hall officiating.  Mr. Climer was born October 20, 1952, in Aubrey, AR.  He died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Tyler.  Survivors include one son, Tracey Climer of Marietta; two daughters, Stacey Climer and Michelle Climer, both of Marietta; his fianc�e and her daughter, Gay Morrison and Jessica Morrison, both of Marietta; four brothers, Wesley Climer of Brinkley, AR, Herchel Climer of Sanatobia, MS, Jerry Climer of Irvin, Rickey  Climer of Emory; four sisters, Tina Parker of Canton, Bonnie Joyner of Mt. Vernon, Dianna O�Dell of Ossulatomie, KS, and Brenda Norvell of Murchison; and two grandchildren.  He was superintendent of utilities for the City of Marietta.  He was preceded inn death by his parents, Rufus and Ruby Foster Climer; his wife, Cynthia; and daughter, Dana Climer.  Interment was at Clark Cemetery.  (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

 

CLIMER, CYNTHIA GAIL                        October 18, 1953 � October 27, 2001

Services for Mrs. Cynthia Gail Climer, 48, of Marietta were Saturday, October 27, 2001 at the Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Hall officiating.  Mrs. Climer was born Sunday, October 18, 1953 in Daingerfield.  She died Thursday, October 25, 2001 at her residence in Marietta.  She was a homemaker and member of the Veal Switch Baptist Church.  Survivors include her husband, Bobby Climer; son, Tracey Climer, daughters Stacey Climer and Michelle Climer; mother, Huline Smith, all of Marietta; two brothers, Donald Lovelady of Daingerfield and Jimmy Dan Lovelady of Texarkana, sister Peggy Bolton of Dallas, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Climer.  Burial was at Clark Cemetery.  (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

EASLEY, R. C.                                                    July 5, 1930 � December 2, 2008 

Services for R.C. Easley, 78, of Ore City, were held Dec. 6, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Rustenhaven officiating. Interment was in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.  Mr. Easley was born July 5, 1930, in Daingerfield, and died Dec. 2 in Longview. He owned and operated two construction companies for over 40 years in Shreveport, La. He was a lifetime member of the National Association of Home Builders, Texas Cattleman�s Association, and GLM Hunting & Fishing Club.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Kate Hart Easley; parents, Raymond and Mary Easley; brothers, William, Curtis, and Ralph Easley; and sister, Frances Harris.  Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carolyn Easley of Houston; four daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Leonard Garvin of Gladewater, Sharon and John Lawson of Lone Star, Tina and Paul Patterson of Holdenville, Okla., and Kathy Stanley of Longview; five sisters, Geraldine Chavez of Bristol, R.I., Maxine Schools of Ore City, Joyce Cato of Avinger, Patsy Moore of Hughes Springs, and Kim Fisher of Marshall; brother, Harold Easley of Longview; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 31 nieces and nephews.  (B Row 16)

FALLS, BUDDIE                                                  August 27, 1917 � June 9, 1995

Buddie Falls, 77, of Ft.Worth, died Friday, June 9, at his home.  Graveside services were at 2 pm Monday, June 12, at Clark Cemetery in Jenkins, near Daingerfield.  Mr. Falls was born in Bogata and moved to Ft. Worth in 1947.  He was an international vice president of the Boilersmaker�s Union in an eight-state area and member of former Ft. Worth Boilermaker Local 96.  Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mildred Falls of Ft. Worth; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Ramona Falls of Houston; three brothers, Eugene Falls of Naples, Russell Falls of Conway, AR., and Bill Falls of Daingerfield; two grandchildren, Travis Lynn Falls and Casey Lee Falls, both of Houston; and a number of nieces and nephews.  (B Row 24)

 

FOWLER, PAT I                                                   August 7, 1921 � July 28, 2007

Services for Pat Fowler, 85, of Daingerfield, were July 30, 2007, at Jenkins United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gerald Holder officiating.  Mrs. Fowler was born August 7, 1921, in Hughes Springs.  She died July 28, 2007, in Omaha.  She was a homemaker and a member of Jenkins United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Fowler, Jr. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Beth Fowler of New Boston, and Steve and Karen Fowler of Plano; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Johnny Joyner of Omaha; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.  (B Row 24)

 

FOWLER, SAM, JR.                                             May 20, 1922 � April 21, 2004

Services for Mr. Sam Fowler, 81, of Daingerfield, were Friday, April 23, 2004, at Jenkins United Methodist Church with the Reverends John Montgomery, Randy Seybert and Tony Joyner officiating.  Mr. Fowler was born May 20, 1922, in Daingerfield.  He died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, in Longview.  He was a member of Jenkins United Methodist Church, was a veteran and served with the US Army during World War II.  He was retired from Lone Star Steel Company.  Survivors include his wife, Pat Fowler of Daingerfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Beth Fowler of New Boston and Steve and Karen Fowler of Plano; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Johnny Joyner of Omaha; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  Interment was at Clark Cemetery. GRAY, Winona Alleen                                 June 30, 1934 � November 6, 2008

Services for Winona Alleen Gray, 74, of Lone Star, were held Nov. 9 at the Lone Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Monds and Felipe Guerrero officiating. Interment was in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Mrs. Gray was born June 30, 1934, in Lubbock, and died Nov. 6 in Longview. She was a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolen and Mary Sumners; her husband, Billy Gray; one grandson; one granddaughter; and two brothers.  Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Glenn and Jeneen Gray of Hughes Springs, Stanley and Kristi Gray of Pampa, Matthew and Maxine Gray of Lone Star, Kevin and Randi Gray of Lone Star; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Phillip Reagh of Kilgore, Marilyn and Phillip Putman of Lone Star, and Sonya and Jimmy Fink of Fort Drum, N.Y.; four brothers, Jesse Whitfield Sumners, Emmett Rolan Sumners, Monty Elton Sumners, and Donald Lee Sumners; two sisters, Wilma Curtis Sandoval and Madie Bernice Sampson; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winona Gray Memorial Fund at the Texas Heritage National Bank. HUMPHREY, FRANKLIN SR.                        August 26, 1940 � May 16, 2005

Services for Mr. Franklin Humphrey Sr., 64, of Daingerfield, were Sunday May 22, 2005, at Reeder-Davis Chapel.  Mr. Humphrey was born August 26, 1940, in Bivins.  He died Monday, May 16, 2005, in Jasper, TN.  He was an over the road truck driver employed by J. B. Hunt, a Navy veteran and served in the Vietnam War.  Survivors include one daughter, Karon Adams; one son, F. David Humphrey II, both of Chattanooga, TN; two granddaughters; and a number of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Pate and Opal Humphrey; and a brother, Larry Humphrey.  Interment was at Clark Cemetery.  (Location Unknown)

 

LANIER, M. L. (MOUSEY)                             February 4, 1916 � April 6, 1999

Services for Mr. M. L. Lanier, 83, of Daingerfield, were held Friday, April 9, 1999 at the Lilly�s Chapel Church of Christ with Bro. L. R. Sparks officiating.  Mr. Lanier was born February 4, 1916 in Stilwell, OK.  He died April 6, 1999 in Shreveport.  Mr. Lanier was retired from Lone Star Steel with 30 years of service.  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lanier of Daingerfield; three sons, Marlin E (Shot) and Sue Lanier of Daingerfield, Scottie Lanier of Omaha, and James Lanier of Tyler; two daughters, LaJuan Lanier of Hoods and Genevia and Charles Modisette of Laird Hill; one brother Charles Lanier of Texarkana; two sisters, Johnnie Perry of Florida and Winnie Cook of Marshall, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Burial was held in the Clark Cemetery under the direction of nail-Haggard Funeral Home.  (A Row 8)

Services for IBERTA LILLEY, 93, of Daingerfield, were June 4, 2007, at South Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Thompson officiating.  Mrs. Lilley was born July 2, 1913, in Morris County.  She died June 2, 2007 in Longview.  She was a homemaker and a member of South Union Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershal Lilley; parents, Phillip and Leola Truitt Taylor; three brothers, Morris Taylor, J. A. Taylor, Omra Taylor; a sister, Eddie McDaniel; and four grandchildren.  Survivors include four daughters, Maurine Barton of Naples, Nelda Harrell of Daingerfield, Sue Bowman of Lone Star, and Gail Lilley of Daingerfield; two sons, Wayne Lilley of New Boston and Weldon Lilley of Daingerfield; 18 grandchildren; 28 grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery.  (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

 

PATTERSON, JULIA FAYE                                March 17, 1924 � May 7, 2000

Services for Mrs. Julia Faye Patterson, 76, of Daingerfield, were Monday, May 8, 2000 at the Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Clark officiating.  Mrs. Patterson was born March 17, 1924 in Daingerfield.  She died Sunday, May 7, 2000 in Mt. Pleasant.  Survivors include daughters Martha Byrd of Daingerfield, Joyce Richey of Omaha; son Dearl Quarles of Daingerfield, sisters, Irene Phillips of Daingerfield, Johnnie Mae Pilbro of Pittsburg, Barbara Resendiz of Longview; brothers, Reginald Harrell of Texarkana, Belly Gene Harrell of Englewood, CO, Gerald  Harrell of Lone Star and Norman Harrell of Daingerfield; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by daughter Rita Faye Quarles.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery.  (LOCATION UNKNOWN)

 

RANES, CLARA GADDIS                   December 21, 1905 � December 23, 1997

Clara Gaddis Ranes, 92, of Topock, AZ, died Tuesday, December 23, 1997, at Needles Desert Community Hospital.  Graveside services were at 10 am, Saturday, December 27, and interment was at Clark Cemetery at Lone Star, with Bro. Don White officiating and Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Mrs. Ranes was born in Daingerfield December 21, 1905.  She was a retired nurse and homemaker.  Survivors include a son, Curtis P. Ranes of Topock, AZ; a granddaughter, Vicki, of Reno, NV; nieces, Claudine Thomas and Gladys Ranes, both of Naples, and Eva Harbour of Mt. Pleasant; and a nephew, Leonard Ranes Belyeu of Omaha.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sam Ranes. (B Row 21)

Services for MRS. DORTHA HULINE LOVELADY SMITH, 84, of Marietta, were Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Nail-Haggard Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Hall officiating.  Mrs. Smith was born January 10, 1921, in Delta County.  She died Monday, March 14, 2005, in Naples.  She was a nurse.  Survivors include two sons, Donald Lovelady of Daingerfield and Jimmy Lovelady of AR; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three stepdaughters, Jo Oliver of Naples, Roger Smith of Daingerfield, Harry, Larry and Marvin Smith, all of Austin.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smith; two daughters, Peggy Lynn Bolton and Cynthia Climer; and one sister, Lois Cook  Interment was at Clark Cemetery. SMITH, RAYMOND                                        January 5, 1921 � March 5, 1999

Raymond Smith, 78, of Marietta, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview.  Services were Monday, March 8, 1999 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples.  Mr. Smith was born January 5, 1921, at Grapeland.  He was a retired employee of General Telephone Company, a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Linden, and a longtime resident of Marietta.  Survivors include his wife, Huline Smith of Marietta; seven sons, Harry Smith and Larry Smith of Austin, Boyce Smith of Bryans Mill, Donald lovelady of Daingerfield, Marvin Smith of Dripping Springs, Jimmy Lovelady of Texarkana, and Rodger Smith of Daingerfield; three daughters, Linda Shea of Wasilla, AK, Peggy Bolton of Daingerfield, and Cynthia Climer of Marietta; three sisters, Era Shaw and Ruby Wiesinger of Grapeland, and Bernice Maholic of Spring; two brothers, Charles Smith of Stevens, AR, and Edgar Smith of Pine Bluff, AR; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery at Jenkins.  The Rev. Curtis Hall officiated.  Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Richard Smith, Ricky Crocker, Buddy Smith, Donnie Lovelady, Howie Hughes and Tracy Climer.  (B Row 12)

STONE, I B                November  6, 1921 � December 23,  2008 Funeral services for I.B. Stone, 87, of Daingerfield, were held Dec. 26 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Randy Seybert officiating. Interment was in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.  Mr. Stone was born Nov. 6, 1921, and passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, at a local nursing home. He had retired from Lone Star Steel, had served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in the Philippines, went into business at Midway Groceries in the Jenkins Community, cut and bailed hay, and was a Pentecostal.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bertie Stone of Daingerfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Billie Jean Stone of Austin and Betty Jane and Jackie Richardson of Naples; one brother, Harvey Stone of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Michael Stone of Bay City, Kathy Allen of Denver, Michelle (John) Smith of Longview, and Howie (Shelli) Barron of Daingerfield; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sieanna, Aerial, Camron, Jayson, Jaylee, and Gabriel.  (Location Unknown)

TERRELL, JOSEPHINE TIGERT                  March 12, 1922 � April 24, 1998

Mrs. Josephine Tigert Terrell, 76, of Lone Star, died Friday, April 24, 1998, in Longview.  Funeral services were at 2 pm Monday, April 27, at the South Union Baptist Church in Daingerfield, with the Rev. William Hitt and the Rev. Neal Clark officiating.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield.  Mrs. Terrell was born March 12, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant.  She was a member of the South Union Missionary Baptist Church, and was a lifetime resident of Morris County.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Clifford Terrell in 1987.  Survivors include three sons, Freddie M. (Bo) and wife, Mary Katherine Terrell of Cleveland, Texas, Mike and wife, Jane Terrell of Argyle, Texas, and Clifford Ronald and wife, Rebecca Terrell of Lone Star; four daughters, Melva Ann and husband, Ray Pitts of Liberty City, Mary Jo and husband, Bill Withem of Kilgore, Brenda Kay and husband, Gene Harris of Cleburne, and Tori Kim and husband, Bryan Bassett of Lone Star; three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. George Tigert, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Ray Tigert, and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Smith, all of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Mildred Terrell of Daingerfield, Ruby Ivy of Lake Cherokee, and Lucy McCollum of Naples; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Royce and wife, Margaret Terrell of Daingerfield; and a sister-in-law, Helen Phillips of Lone Star. THOMAS, OSCAR EUGENE                       October 9, 1911 � August 13, 1996

Oscar Eugene Thomas, 84, of Daingerfield, died Tuesday, August 13, 1996, in a Tyler hospital. Funeral services were at 2 pm, Wednesday, August 14, at the First  United Methodist Church in Daingerfield, with the Rev. Lynn Parker and the Rev. Donald Roy Vaughn officiating.  Masonic graveside services were in Clark Cemetery at Daingerfield.  Mr. Thomas was born October 9, 1911, in Hunt County.  He was retired from Morris County, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Oasis Masonic Lodge #79, York Rite of Pittsburg, and was an Eastern Star Chapter #906 member, and an Army Veteran of World War II.  Survivors include four sons, Larry E. Thomas of Ft. Smith, AR, Ronnie E Thomas of Omaha, Mike Thomas of Daingerfield, and George E Thomas of Pittsburg; one daughter, Brinda K Peek of Omaha; one sister, Gladys Ranes of Naples; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

WALLACE, MARY LOUISE                         May 3, 1944 � November 13, 2008

Services for Mary Louise Wallace, 64, of Hughes Springs, were held Nov. 16, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with the Rev. Donald Roy Vaughn officiating. Interment was in Clark Cemetery in Jenkins.  Mrs. Wallace was born May 3, 1944, in Daingerfield and died Nov.13 at a Linden hospital.  (Location Unknown)

WILLIAMS, LOLA G TERRY                             April 17, 1910 � June 29, 1997

Lola Williams, 87, of Jenkins, died Sunday, June 29.  Funeral services were at 2 pm, Monday, June 30, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Naples, with the Rev. Pleas Layne officiating.  Burial was in Clark Cemetery.  Mrs. Williams was a member of the South Union Baptist Church of Daingerfield, and was a lifetime resident of Jenkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Williams; a daughter Novelle Nichols; and a son, Robert Gene Williams.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Billy John Hicks of Naples; a sister-in-law, Birdie Terry of Daingerfield; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  Serving as pallbearers were Bud Davlin, Bud Hicks, Johnny Hicks, Sam Hicks, Eugene Terry and Felton Williams.  (A Row 14)

Services for Mrs. Dora Helen Wood, 45, of Daingerfield, were Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at Daingerfield Church of Christ with Norman Miller officiating.  Mrs. Wood was born October 7, 1960, in Houston.  She died Saturday, February 18, in Longview.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  Survivors include her husband, Manley Wood; two sons, Mark and Michael Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jimmy Chism; all of Daingerfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Phyllis Duke and Sandy Duke, all of Lone Star; two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Esala and Charlotte and James Earl Carr, all of Daingerfield; two grandchildren, Halie Pippin and Jaiden Chism.  Interment was at Clark Cemetery.
